WHEN DOES A MOLE SPELL MELANOMA?Superficial spreading melanoma is the most common form of melanoma which accounts for around 70% of cases. It can arise from a seemingly, normal or healthy pre-existing mole or freckle, but the majority appear as a new mole. Take note of the ABCDE rule and take charge of your skin health and surveillance by checking your skin once a month for the early warning signs. It’s important to note however that not all melanoma follow this rule. Skin cancer comes in many guises, so if you notice any pigmented or non-pigmented spot, mole, freckle or mark that’s new, unusual or changing - get it checked out asap!EARLY DETECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT, SAVES LIVES
