WHEN DOES A MOLE SPELL MELANOMA?Superficial spreading melanoma is the most common form of melanoma which accounts for around 70% of cases. It can arise from a seemingly, normal or healthy pre-existing mole or freckle, but the majority appear as a new mole. Take note of the ABCDE rule and take charge of your skin health and surveillance by checking your skin once a month for the early warning signs.It’s important to note however that not all melanoma follow this rule.
