The suppression of your immune system and the risks of being photosensitive with methotrexate are well known. It has prompted worries that those properties might lead to a greater risk of melanoma.
A systematic review (gathering together many published articles about the risk) has concluded that any increase in risk is neglible. Ref: JAMA Dermatol doi:10.1001/jamadermatol.2022.3337
This doesn't mean that you should ignore anything that possibly looks like a melanoma, of course! - just that you don't have an increased risk.

Thanks …. Good to know as I’m in South America for another 2 months
I had extremely sun-sensitive skin for about a year before my RA diagnosis. Never had any issues prior to this and had always browned easily etc.
It could be possible that it is a symptom of RA itself rather than Mtx??? I am 12 years in now and my skin is fine. But it was an issue for a few years ‘around’ diagnosis.
