Came across melanoma research, figured I’d share knowing we are all at higher risk.

“Giving the combination of immune checkpoint inhibitorsrelatlimab and nivolumab to patients with stage III melanoma before surgery was safe and completely cleared all viable tumor in 57% of patients in a Phase II study, researchers from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center reported in Nature today.”

It will be interesting to see how this pans out with CLL, because, so far the promise of checkpoint inhibitors seen in other cancers hasn't been observed when using them to treat CLL.

Does this mean that unresectable advanced melanoma is curable? Or that stage 4 metastatic melanoma is curable?

neither, it’s just progress towards better treatment.
