šŸ„³šŸ¾šŸŽ‚ The happiest of Birthday Wishes to Richard Clifford, my wonderful father and co-founder of Skcin who celebrates his Birthday turning 80 this weekend! šŸ§”

Richard lost his beloved wife Karen Clifford (the ā€˜KCā€™ in Skcin) to melanoma in 2005 - it was of course a devastating time for all our family, but Richard turned his grief into positivity and was determined to prevent such suffering for others - and a matter of months later Skcin was born.

I am so proud of his achievements and dedication in these early years of the charity - from setting up and heading up ā€˜Skin Cancer UKā€™ to lobby government and drive change; travelling to Australia to meet with the best in prevention and gain knowledge of best practice - and Iā€™ll NEVER forget his mammoth efforts in trying to unite every charity and organisation in the UK with an interest in skin cancer to raise much needed awareness that was non-existent back then! ā€¦I could quite literally write a book on that one!

His efforts, his dedication and his passion has shaped who we are and what we do today - and what a fitting legacy for his wife and my mum, who has inspired us and fuelled our passion every day for 17 years!

šŸ§” My goodness Dad - you have made her proud! šŸ§”
