How do you handle Prednisone weight gain?
The weight gain and the increase in appetite being on Prednisone and when I was taking Presnislone is irritating the hell out of me. I was wondering what some of you guys do. Or do you do anything? I'm not worried about the salt. I spoke to my doc about it back in Thailand and after telling her my

Low ferritin
Hi All, I’ve lurked on and off for several months. I’ve always been told thyroid results are fine but this year I had a positive coeliac blood test result just before lockdown. I did a private thyroid test, no antibodies but TSH slightly elevated. Three weeks ago, more bloods at GP, I knew I had iron

Question about iron levels?
Hi I am new here, not new to having Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (hypothyroidism) for around 15 years. Recently, I was sent to a hematologist because my iron levels were so low. Practically non existent. I was put on iv iron right away. The specialist and I were trying to figure out why I was so anemic..

LEVOTHRYOXINE SODIUM & RESULTS
Hi everyone, Just looking for some more advice please. As you can see from my previous posts, I have had a total of 3 blood tests for my thyroid levels. It was very high in March 2020, but as you can see from my recent results... the levels are in the ‘normal’ bracket. I have been given medication

Ferritin blood results different between medichecks and NHS
Hi I wanted to make a separate post on this to find out whether anyone else has experienced this phenomena, and whether they know what might be going on. I have had 2 blood tests from NHS and 2 from Medichecks in fairly quick succession without any ferritin supplementation and the 2 NHS ones are low,

Any treatments left?
Good afternoon, my dad has been battling this awful disease for 2 1/2 years. We have exhausted the majority of treatments. He has been on abiraterone, Xtandi twice, zytiga, Docetaxel, radium-223, BAT and now he is about to get his 8th treatment of Jevtana. He is 77 years old and is tolerating the Jevtana

Struggling with IBS D
I’ve been lurking on this forum for some time now and finally decided it was time to post. I’ve noticed that some people give background so will do this; I lost around 7 stone in weight (through calorie counting & exercise- only mentioning to rule out dumping syndrome from gastric band) 6/7 years ago

Test results, following up from a month ago
Hello. I posted on here a month ago asking for advice before an endo appointment. I was feeling very poorly - a lot of joint pain, brain fog, falling over, dizzy, ears ringing etc. Your advice was really helpful, thank you. I ended up having levothyroxine increased from 50 to 75mcg, liothyrinine

Anyone gets sick from taking vitamins/minerals?
Hello. I know many will find this question silly, but this is something I have observed for over 10 years now. Its almost like I'm allergic to vitamins. Whether from a supplement, or from fruits, the effect is the same. Anytime I eat fruit for a period of several days (any fresh fruit, no specific fruit

Is my experience with IBS normal/Any tips?
Hi, I’ve had IBS for for around 4 or 5 years now and was wondering whether my experiences with it have been normal or if something else could be wrong also. I think my IBS flares are brought on due to anxiety more than diet as ever since I was at school I would get diarrhoea and pains nearly every day

Switching gears due to insurance denial of treatment plan
My MO was set to give me cabazitaxel with carboplatin as docetaxel was not working. However, insurance denied this treatment as not being beneficial. When MO asked for peer review the insurance doctor, who appears to know little about treatment of prostate cancer being specific to each individual, denied

Help with blood results
So, the endo is happy with my T3 and T4. Mid to upper range. However I still suffer from bloating, hair loss and fairly rapid pulse (90 bpm) . I take 50mcg levo and 1 grain Thai NDT. I had my iron checked in June 19. GP told me that my levels were ‘normal’. I’ve recently had the Mirena coil removed

Iron may not be what we think it is.
The latest thinking from RLS research is that when we talk about iron ,we should be looking at Haemoglobin (hgb) rather than ferritin. This is from the latest magazine of the Restless legs Foundation ( Nightwalkers summer 2020). James R Connor PhD. The thinking is that hgb levels are a better indication

Next Steps? Radium 223 or Jevanta (Cabazitaxel) - HELP - NEED ADVICE.
My friend is 56. Already gone thru Chemo (docetaxal), provenge, zytiga and xandi. MO wants him to start chemo which he doesnt want to do (again) and wants to know thoughts from others. Success (O.S) statistics with Radium 223? Running out of options. His PSA is rising but still low at .7 and imaging
