Hashimoto's or just paranoia?
I don't want to have something else added to my list of medical issues (I also suffer from Bile Acid
Malabsorption
and IBS) but I feel like this would REALLY make sense as to why I feel how I do at times.

I also have low Iron (10) and Folate (1.7) so I am seriously concerned there is some
malabsorption
issues going on Any advice on what I can do bar moving to a new practice?

IBS is going to be the end of me
I was diagnosed with fructose
malabsorption
, gluten sensitivity and lymphocytic colitis, but treatments were ineffective as I still had terrible abdominal pain and bloating. And finally the diagnosis came: IBS. That was 5 months ago, and my life has been hell ever since.

The doc and I think my deficiency was due to a different type of
malabsorption
and/or an effect of a primary immune deficiency I was diagnosed with in the fall of 2016 after a year of near constant diarrhea. The dietary choices I made weren't so great during that time.

Newly diagnosed, but long time sufferer
Sure enough, one of the main symptoms listed was B12
malabsorption
due to reduced intrinsic factor being produced and in a poor acidic gut environment.

Update on: GP stopping my B12. Replacing with oral B12.
Since all of your help and advice on here I decided to look into other causes of B12 deficiency, I came across information on how previous stomach surgery can result in
malabsorption
issues. As I myself had bowel surgery twice a long time ago, I informed her of this.

Getting the ball rolling
I have either IBS or bile acid
malabsorption
which makes dieting a lot harder as I have to be careful what I eat. Here's to getting the ball rolling and feeling like me again.....it's been a while.

GP's reaction to private blood test results
She is really concerned about the low B12 and Vit D and suggested a coeliac test too as likely my results are due to
malabsorption
problems. I think I should pop over to the PA board now, but just wanted to put my thanks to SlowDragon and everyone here for their help and guidance.

Thank you all for sharing!
I’ve done a colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, passed a SIBO test and a Geneva diagnostics stool test (
malabsorption
and lipase low, pancreas blood test later said it is fine)..scopies show inflamation and one showed signs of maybe ulcerative proctitis.

MORE SEVERE SYMPTOMS
I am now 115 lbs from 167 and after being diagnosed with low B12, iron, folate and
malabsorption
and malnutrition (was surprising because I was very active at work and at this time I had only lost 20 lbs) . I feel sharp pains occasionally lately near my left pelvis, and I can't barely bend over.

IBS Help Tips
Whole food vitamins (because of
malabsorption
) and of course, never go anywhere without spare underwear, panty-liner, bladder leak disposable underwear. I've had to work in them sometimes, just in case. I am 65.

Methylation - was gobblydegook but now I'm understanding it
First, let’s start with the things that negatively impact your body’s natural ability to methylate: genetics, smoking, nutrient
malabsorption
, medications, toxicity, and a poor diet—especially if it’s low in leafy greens, fruits, and high-quality meats and eggs because their naturally occurring B vitamins

B12 Malabsorption ?? Confused !
Hello anyone who can help ? ! Really confused. Saw functional medicine Dr in March regarding autoimmune/thyroid/graves. She said I probably wasn't absorbing B12 & suggested injections. I wanted confirmation I needed them so had private urine test - came back in high need . Can't afford privately - showed

PA or absorption issues?
It seems I do have a
malabsorption
issue. My folate is always low too. All I took for the low folate before was normal dose folic acid, but I recently started taking 1000mcg methylfolate. Should I consider private injections or wait to see if the higher B12 + folate help?
