Malabsorption
After working with a dietitian, we both agree that my problems could be
malabsorption
so I would really like to have a SeHcat scan to see if this is the case. Has anyone privately paid for a Sehcat scan within a hospital, if so how did you go about doing this? Many Thanks

Malabsorption of drugs?
I am still awaiting a diagnosis of PA, but do suspect I do have it. My stomach pH level was recently 8.1, so very low stomach acid, which is why I am not absorbing/processing B12, iron and folate. I also did a test which showed I have very low diamine oxidase in my gut so have histamine intolerance.

lipase, fatty liver disease and elevated triglycerides
Iāve got severe bile acid
malabsorption
, fatty liver disease and elevated triglyceride levels. Iāve also had a small bowel MRI which shows an atrophied pancreas. Does lipase from the pancreas play a significant role in breaking down the fat in the liver?

Blood test results
Pathology investigation report on the blood test suggests undertreatment/
malabsorption
/ lack of adherence to treatment/ calcium or iron supplements or coeliac disease. I have been taking as instructed and don't take any supplements. Would the next logical increase be to 50mcg? Thanks

Have recently come off ticagrelor and wanting to come off lansaprazole too ( for
malabsorption
reasons). Suggested to GP I move to coated aspirin and drop lansaprazole and she said fine. Not sure how much she thought about it.

Blood tests confirming malabsorption and malnutrition
Out of curiosity, I managed to set up my NHS portal and patient access, and checked through the last couple of years of various blood tests. Now, when I was in hospital in 2022 (all linked to mistreated hypothyroidism), many blood tests showed
malabsorption
and malnutrition.

B12 injections frequency
I have asked my GP if I can my B12 levels retested and was told no as it's a
malabsorption
issue. I have asked if I can have the injections more frequently than the 12 weeks and met with resistance.

B12 deficiency, Acid Reflux, heartburn
Iām also taking 40 mg omeprazole for acid reflux, which may be contributing to the
malabsorption
. However I still have daily heartburn . But Iāve only been on it for two months. Is anyone else dealing with a similar issue? Are the two related? What is causing the B12
malabsorption
?

GP visit!
Got the same old story - test within range, symptoms arenāt bad enough, try oral B12 for three months, despite my explaining that I have low stomach acid and problems with
malabsorption
, which she again dismissed. Blah, blah, blah.

Terminal ileitis
I've had my gallbladder out three years ago and my consultant said it could Bile Acid
Malabsorption
too. I won't be having a sehcat test as apparently I've been told that they can prescribe binders and if they work then it means you have BAM. Thank you did reading.
