Nervous but eager for tests next week
Hi all. I saw a gastroenterologist a while back and he wants to do endoscopy/colonoscopy which I'm scheduled to have next week. He said he's initially thinking of coeliac so I'm guessing endoscopy/biopsy would prove if he's right? When I thought about it afterwards I did find it a bit strange that he

Reliable source for lutein
I was reading about the possible benefits of
lutein
; I am taking it at the moment along with the other AREDs supplements but I have a feeling the ones I have are fake, as they are small and white even though they claim to be 50mg.

Zinc
Since being diagnosed with macular degeneration recently I have been taking a supplement containing
lutein
. It also contains zinc. I seem to remember hearing/seeing something about zinc being contraindicated for taking when using predisolone for pmr.

Graves disease 2 years after thyroidectomy lab tests results
I am taking vitamin A and D, selenium 200 mg,
lutein
for my eyes, low dose of Melatonin and B12. What do you all think about this? It's the usual attitude of the Endo not recognizing these symptoms as being an imbalance in hormones. Although now that I had the test I am obviously hyper thyroid.

Found this article on healthy eating forum so thought I would pass it on
This article ("What Happens if You Eat Raw Onions Every Day"), was published originally on the FoodPrevent.com website. The article explains how eating a raw onion a day can help with certain health conditions (cardiovascular health, type 2 Diabetes, lower cancer risks, etc.). Please see below for more

Could T3 be my last hope of being well, even if blood levels are 'normal'?
Hi everyone, I’m 52. I’ve been taking thyroxine for 20 years after being diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism. I also discovered I'd gone through an early menopause at the same time. I’ve never been well the whole time since then. I have all the classic chronic hypo symptoms: fatigue, muscle aches

Reposting of comments on depression and the gut. How to heal the gut naturally
The following has been copied from another thread and covers issues about the role of the gut in depression, and ACAC has such useful advice here about how to heal the gut that I have reposted it for people who missed that thread. My husband has had depression and anxiety for quite a few years prior

RA, Gluten and Leaky Gut
I’m so very confused! I was diagnosed with RA and was given Naproxen (despite being given this before and no effect, they didnt listen to me) I’ve been asked to go on a gluten free diet, as Gluten may be my trigger. But does Naproxen has gluten in? Not only that, I have 9/10 symptoms of leaky gut..
