Why being strict with the Gluten Free Diet is SO important.
I have heard recently (from several sources), that post-diagnosis many people with Coeliac Disease are still eating gluten regularly ‘so their body doesn’t reject it’. It seems to me, that this is some sort of urban myth, based around the idea that if you eat some gluten, you may have to suffer with

Common symptoms? When to get tested for RA?
Hi it's Coeliac Awareness week in the UK which is another auto-immune condition. RA is associated with patients with Coeliac Disease. As many of our members still feel ill despite a Gluten Free Diet for life and additional vitamin supplements we were wondering if any of you would like to give them tips

Do coeliac disease symptoms resolve after following a gluten free diet?
I haven't had much luck with improving my symptoms having tried to diet for the last couple of months. Most of the advice has come from different sites on the internet. How effective is dieting for most people and is there a good resource for recipes that people can recommend.

Another example.....more confusion?" what do you think?
Copied from another board where the person is on a "strict gluten-free diet" and still getting glutened and has not considered the diet might be the cause as she is still consuming gluten, amout unknown. Medication gluten is suitable for the majority of coeliacs but not all. "is all citalopram prescribed

Gluten Content from Barley Malt in Cereals
I was just flicking through the new CUK Food & Drink Directory and found the pages on cereals. There is a note in the section that says: "Some of the breakfast cereals listed contain barley malt extract and you will see this ingredient in the ingredients list and/or the allergen advice box. The

Am I a coeliac?
Hi, this probably sounds random. I started a gluten free diet about 10 years ago because I was bloated, tired, stomach cramps, anaemic, suffered terrible migraines and alternated between terrible diarrhea and constipation. A few years ago my sons doctor said I should be tested for coeliac disease

saw the gastroenterologist yesterday as i have some type of malabsorbtion going on, i am aware that all my coeliac tests came back clear but i have found being gluten free helps my joint pains and seems to have cleared any irritable bowel issues that i thought i had, i inadvertently ate fish with flour

It's hormones!
I'm eating gluten for tests... I'm being told by some people that it could be a psycological thing- that because I think the gluten will make me ill- it does? But! I'm 3 and a half weeks on a gluten diet and my skin feels like paper, I'm sporadically itchy- mostly scalp, legs, stomach and chest.

Help, Who do I believe? More confusion
While preparing documentation for two First Tier Tribunals I am getting my paperwork together and have been told by the Department of Health and the Food Standards Agency that RICE is naturally gluten free and from the coeliac charity "but in practice a zero level does not exist. It is impossible to

Opinions please!
"You state that you have not been well on a gluten-free diet, although you were taking gluten-free foods." How would you interpret this statement?

How were you diagnosed?
This question is regarding my son who is currently 'suspected of having coeliac disease'. He's 8, has had quite a few months of vomitting, tested positive with raised tTg levels, and had an endoscopy last week that showed 'changes consistent with coeliac disease' from biopsy in one portion of his bowel

The more I read into coeliac disease and the gluten free diet the more concerned I become, I am twice diagnosed, react differently to the majority and take up to 6 piriton a day to stop getting "food-exercise induced allergic reactions.
