hi, I’ve been listed for liver transplant in Birmingham. I’m currently being treated for cancer in Liverpool Aintree. They have made so many mistakes it’s unbelievable… They didn’t do bloods for hepatitis and after 16 months of cancer Birmingham discover this is the primary cause. They ruptured

Hi wondering if anyone has had a successful DLA claim for their child post liver transplant? Daughter was born with Biliary atresia and had a liver transplant a year and a half ago.

Refusing Lung Transplant
A few weeks ago my wife's neurologist put her forward for consideration for

surgery. After consideration, my wife has declined as she feels it represents a great deal of change to her life, in which she is quite content.

Coughing and lung cancer - really frustrating for my Dad ..
hi , my DaD , who has Stage 4, has been ccughing quite a bit in the last couple of days. He had a pleural water removal a couple of weeks ago and worried this may be building again. Anything you've all found that may alleviate some of the coughing symptoms , that i know he finds really frustrating

Feel like I am waiting for the next tragedy
I am recovering from a bad accident. Every time I go home from the hospital something goes wrong. My lung collapsed twice. I am home again after lung surgery and surgery on some of my broken ribs. Now I am worried the incisions aren’t healing. I am trying to stay positive but the anxiety wins. It has

Looking for information
I had my kidney transplant April, 2019. In the last couple of months I have had issues with being so cold that I need a coat or a heating pad. Then after about half an hour, I am so warm it's almost as if I have a horrible sunburn, especially on my back. Is this from the anti-rejection meds?

Long time on wait list
Hoping to hear from people who waited a long time for a liver transplant. Husband has been on the list for 15 months now, and I'm not sure either of us can stand this much longer. He's been called once, about 3 months ago, so at least they haven't forgotten about him, but it's so hard watching him get

Preparations afoot for my stem cell transplant
I've finally got dates for my sct. I have a CT scan next week in preparation for radiotherapy to shrink my spleen . That will be followed by 6 days of radiotherapy as an out patient then 24 Jan I get admitted and start chemo. Donor cells getting infused a few days later. I knew all along this was going

protecting against infection
Since I had my kidney transplant 2 years ago during Covid and I’m over 70 years old,I have had to be particularly careful about getting infections. Now that Covid is subsiding and people are going back to normal, I’m not sure how careful I need to continue to be. Before transplant, I had a robust immune

Update on progress with MF and the FEDORA clinical trial
So to recap, I was diagnosed with primary MF in October 2022 and asked to join a new clinical trial called FEDORA. After many tests including a BMB, ultrasound on my abdomen, chest X-ray etc. I started on the pre medication of 400mg/day (in one dose) of Fedratinib in capsule form. This was the first

Preemptive kidney transplant experience and results
Everywhere I read, everyone agrees that a preemptive transplant from a living donor is the best you can hope for when you have stage 5 kidney failure. I would like to hear about your experience if you went through transplant before needing dyalisis. What were your GFR, your BUN and your creatinine

Sudden rise in Tacrolimus
I received a kidney transplant in July 2021. Everything has gone swimmingly. I caught a mild case of Covid at the end of July and received a multiclonal antibody infusion. When I went for my August bloodwork, my Tacrolimus trough, which had been running 5-7, was suddenly 9.6. When I did my bloodwork
