Left Ventricular systolic dysfunction diagnosed after stroke on 21 July 2019 aged 65
I wonder if anyone is in the same position as me? Stroke on 21 July 2019, thankfully with no physical disability suffered - echocardiogram in August 2019 showed Left Ventricular Systolic dysfunction - referred to cardiologist and first available appointment scheduled for 11 May 2020. GP says as I'm

Statins and PAF meds ... should I worry?
Hi, Wife has just had her annual blood test from GP which shows her cholesterol level as 5.4 mmol/L. This has been flagged as borderline and GP has recommended she goes on statins. She suffers from PAF, but has had no noticeable events since last August when they upped her Bisoprolol following a stay

BP Meds causing bladder problems?
The doctors did an ECG which seemed OK but changed my meds to
Losartan
potassium 50mgs +
hydrochlorothiazide
12.5 mgs with split dose of Plendil 5mgs, once am and once pm. I seemed to have my BP come down better than it was, but still spiked quite often.

Change from Ramipril to Losartan
Hi everyone, I've been put on 50mg Losartan as a replacement for Ramipril which was keeping me up at night coughing. I took my first pill yesterday and today I can hardly lift my arms or legs and my feet are super tingly. I know this can be a side effect but surely not after just one pill? I just wondered

Timing of Pred dose and adrenal recovery
PMR diagnosed March 2019. I had successfully tapered down to 7.5mg by October, but then seemed to get stuck for 3 months. Every time I tried 7.00, pains returned. However, since mid-January, I have been able to get to 7.00 and am now slowly tapering to 6.5. Experimenting early on led to my taking

It is a scary place
Just before Christmas I had a Echocardiogram and totally out of the blue I was told I have a dilated left ventricle and a regurgitating valve. Ejection fraction is 15-20%. I was shocked as I only went to the GP initially as I was short of breath. I am now taking Bisopropol, Aispirin, Omeprazol and

Blood pressure readings
I've been asked by my GP to check my blood pressure at home as I have "white coat syndrome " he said I should take 3 readings and then average them out. Does anyone know why? I am taking losartan but still have HBP. When I take the 1st reading it is always quite high between 160/90 and 175/95 then it

Merry Christmas - NSR almost 2 weeks
I'm sitting in bed drinking a nice cup of tea taking my daily 5mg bisoprolol 50mg of Losartan 25mg Spirolactone (rivaroxaban in the evening) and still in NSR after cardio version almost 2 weeks ago. I know it's early days but seize the moment - a big thank you to all on this forum for your help and guidance

HBP Medications
A year ago my husband suffered an AKI and ended up in renal failure. He has since recovered but has been diagnosed with Stage 2 CKD. His doctor has recently switched him from metoprolol 100mg to hydrochlorothiazide 25mg. Is there one bp medication that is better than another for CKD? We are new to all

Ramparil the devil you know
After months of cough my consultant changed me from ramparil to candesartan after 5 days I was feeling terrible and struggling to get breath. Ended up in hospital and swoped to losartan. Still feeling rotten and am thinking I might be better going back to ramipril as I felt great except for the cough

AF and breathlessness
I had an appointment yesterday with a Cardiac Consultant. I had a echocardiogram and ECG first and a monitor fitted back in July for 12 hours. I have been suffering with breathlessness on climbing stairs, shopping or any excertion so was hoping for some answers as to why I am like this. I was diagnosed

BP meds interference?
I'm taking Losartan Potasium, Lerconidipine and Atenolol for very high blood pressure, and cannot have the surgery I need until it's normal. I've been taking Dihydrocodeine for severe, full body RLS for nearly 20 years, but recently, the bed-time dose I take around 12.30am is only lasting for about two
