I am taking Losartan since October 2018. I am bit worried about this medicine especially its side effects. Can I stop taking this medicine because I have to pass urine frequently. I look forward to hearing from you. Ejaz

Losartan
Don’t stop taking it without speaking to your GP. There are other drugs you could try that may not have the same side effect. I’ve been on Losartan for years, after getting the irritating cough when originally prescribed Ramipril. Thankfully I haven’t had any problems with Losartan, but definitely worth asking your GP.

I agree totally with Fredders reply. Just one question - are you actually experiencing side effects or are you just concerned that you might, at some future date?
Will, Losartan Potassium is, according to a highly recommended pharmacist, the BP drug about which he hears the least complaints of side effects from his patients.
Certainly, as someone who has had to abandon many BP drugs due to my body’s intolerance, Losartan has proved to have little in the way of side effects as far as I am aware.
Having said that, UTIs are listed as a possible side effect and I did go through a spate of these about a year ago when I was taking the TEVA brand. However since switching brands (TEVA was taken off the market), I do not seem to be having any problems in that direction (fingers crossed!).
Have you had a urine specimen tested by the Lab to rule out a UTI as the possible cause of your frequency? Just a thought.
I've been taking it for nearly 20 years after having problems with every other BP med. We are all very different.
