Questions? normal scans but liver problems..
I see a lot of people on here with the same thing, that they have bloods done, normal, have scans, ie ultrasound, CT, MRI all normal then they get a biopsy or F/scan and it shows liver issues, why cant they not see that on other scans? If your liver is fibrotic, or even fatty would it not always show

Fatigue is back with a vengeance - and low mood as well now
Hallo all Really struggling with fatigue at the moment. Think it might be the worst I've had although I'm not sure because I also seem to have lost my memory and my marbles as well! I feel like I've turned into a wannabe couch potato - and my mood is really low a lot of the time. It's really distressing

Hepatic Encephalopathy
Hi, My partner was diagnosed with cirrhosis earlier this year and the last 3 weeks have been a nightmare! He has had two hospital stays during this time and the thing that frightens me most is the HE. He got up this morning in his underpants, came downstairs, put a pair of work gloves on and picked up

Has anyone every had an inexperienced tech for Fibro Scan with innacurate results?
I had a fibro scan on my liver. The technician was having a difficult time and had to call someone else in, she to could not get a reading either (they said the numbers were coming up blank) They had some good pictures and said lets just send these and see what happens. Backstory: I had a huge

Reducing levothyroxine and taking HRT
I would appreciate some thoughts on whether I should reduce my Levothyroxine from 125 daily to 125 x Mon-Fri and 100 x Sat/Sun to bring TSH up a little bit. GP has agreed to this and started me on HRT patch (Evorel Conti 50) to see if that helps with the aches and pains as she thinks thyroid is treated

ET progression to MF - anxiety issues
My ET is now progressing to Post ET Myelofibrisis. My hemo has recommended I start on Ruxolitinib & also to be considered for a stem cell transplant. I know some of you have been in the same situation. Am I correct in thinking MF is life limiting? Also how have any of you coped on Rux? I feel very

Can Methylprednisolone affect Ascites?
I am currently on 100mg spironolactone and 40mg furosemide daily to help my Ascites. Recently I hurt my back running and was prescribed a 4mg/day methylprednisolone dose pack to help with the injury. I began taking the steroid last Tuesday evening, and by Wednesday afternoon to my pleasure noticed

Prednisolone, can it be down to 3/4 of 5mg?
Hi! So I'm kidney transplant patient on my 11th year. I have some hormonal issues and my doctor said I should reduce my Prednisolone from 1 tab morning of 5mg to 3/4 of tab. I'm hesitating. What's your experience? (Normal scheme for me: 1 tab Prednisolone at morning, 1mg Prograf morning and evening,

engaging with alcohol support for transplant assessment
hiya, partner diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis 22.12.21 - has remained alcohol free since that date with comparative ease . He is being very well looked after by our local liver unit and whilst we are still hoping he may have some improvement (he is actually pretty well despite a UKMELD of 52)

Mannitol and sense of Taste/Smell
Mannitol was once quite a popular great white hope against PD, but only ever really seemed to benefit perhaps 1 in 5 at best. It did really seem to benefit me though. Given how cheap it is it is always worth a punt (I know big pharma study found no benefit, but we will agree to differ on how believable

Decompensated Transplant may be the option going forwards. His body isnt responding to the 30mg Pred over

Negative then positive then Negative AMA???
I am so confused. I'm not sure if I should even be here. 4 months ago I tested negative for AMA. 2 weeks ago I came back positive. I asked to redo the test and tonight my test results came back negative. Obviously haven't spoke to my Hepatologist yet. I was diagnosed solely based on a positive AMA test

Feet pain post kidney transplant
I am 2 months post transplant and I’m feeling good. I love to cook so I had my donor over for lunch and I cooked a bunch of food for her. I was standing for a few hours. I had such bad feet pain that afternoon/evening. It felt like it was radiating into my toes. Has anyone ever experienced this?
