I had a fibro scan on my liver. The technician was having a difficult time and had to call someone else in, she to could not get a reading either (they said the numbers were coming up blank) They had some good pictures and said lets just send these and see what happens. Backstory: I had a huge surgery 5 years ago (liver resection for a benign tumor) and I have a huge scar. I thought mabye it was due to scar tissue they were having such a hard time.
This was just routine scan since an ultrasound showed increased echogenicity suggestive of fatty infiltraion. Well my fibroscan results came back as F4 cirrhosis!
I am in shock. Is it ever wrong? I feel fine, my bloodworks fine. Now I have to make an appt with a hepatolgist. I'm beside myself and can't think straight.

Nothing definitive but you should see hepatologist as you are planning. Rember fibroscan is only one test and as alone result is never enough to see whole picture. What was your iqr/median parametr?
NAFLD 17.1 KPA IQR 9% Correlates to Matvir fibrosis score of F4, cirrhosis
I'm not sure what you mean the fibroscan is only one test. What else helps with the diagnosis? I just got the call that is what I had, and I needed to follow up with the hepatologist. Ok I have to remember that and just breathe, I have myself sick. My hepatologist appt is July 12.
There are a number of other tests that can be carried out. You may find it helpful to visit our web page about these, here: britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

Thank you so much for your story. That eases my mind a bit. I still have a month left b4 my specialist appointment. I hope you are well. Your numbers are all over the place.
