Stem cell transplant (SCT) 15 months on
I'm now 15 months after my SCT and in my my recent review my figures are improving:WBC 4.0 HB 139 Neut 2.3, lymph1.12 and platelets 106 ( highest for a couple of years). I also had my CD4 lymphocytes measured and can now come off Acyclovir and pentamidine. Hooray! I hated those nebulisers. This leaves

stem cell transplant survival with MF
This link gives some figures for overall survival with or without a transplant. The headline really is the initial mortality close to the transplant is only worth risking if your MF is quite bad. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7218417/

Anyone turn down a stem cell transplant?
I have post ET MF. Currently I'm on Rux and getting monthly cycles of 5 aza. I don't need transfusions. Day to day I feel pretty good and can do most of what I want. The SCT was recommended because of the risk of progression to AML. I'm finding the decision making to get the SCT very difficult. My

CLL itching
I am convinced that my constant itching problem is a direct result of my condition. Itching has increased over the years and now constant . My only relief is alcohol and THC laced Gummies . All other suggestions would be appreciated .

On another subject âŠ
Inspired bya post on another site Iâd like to ask if anyone has high risk mutations and has NOT had a stem cell transplant and has NOT progressed to leukaemia? On the other site there were a few who had had MF for quite few years but with treatment were doing ok, and werenât having transplants, for

Severe hepatic steatosis
HiMy CT scan says liver has smooth contour, 'severe hepatic steatosis', no focal liver lesion or biliary dilatation. I phoned the helpline and was recommended to ask for fib 4 test but my gp says they don't do that. Just had normal full bloods and liver panel taken. Waiting for the results but I fear

Unknown Liver Disease or from Alcohol?
Hi About 8 weeks I had two alcohol binge sessions over the weekend on an empty stomach. (I only drink 3-4 times a year). Following this, about 4 days after, I started developing hot and cold flushes, sweating, hives and pruritus - especially on my stomach, poor wound healing. Pale colored stools.

recent kidney transplant
June 27, 2023 Just 10 weeks ago I had a living kidney donor transplant. Looking for advice as far as lab values when theyâre not normal or things that sound concerning such as a rise in antibody numbers. I wondered how they treated that and how difficult it was to get things stabilized. I appreciate

So much confusion so much pain
I tell you I struggle every day. I look at pics of my wife from this time last year, 2 years ago 3 years ago. My wife was never a drinker. We had a glass of wine at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every now and then, maybe once or twice a year. She would have a drink at our friends. When we moved

Platelets dropped after obinituzumab and won't rise even after transfusion đš
Dear all, First of all, thank you very much for all the help and care I have always found on HealthUnlocked. I had my first infusion of obinituzumab and in my case, mainly due to my nephrotic syndrome kidney problem, I had a few problems. High fevers, which are common Attacks of hiccups that last

Rash from Cirrhosis?
Anyone with cirrhosis have a rash other than jaundice or spider veins? I have little raised red bumps that get very itchy and scaly. Theyâre mostly on my legs and my back and some along my waistline.

Alcoholic liver disease is a strong predictor of colorectal polyps in liver transplant recipients
I went and searched for any possible connection between my
