It may continue upto 1 yr post tx. Consult your nephrologist if your dose of steroid and tacrolimus can be reduced.

I had Kidney transplant in December 2022 and felt that way only for about 4 months. Daily exercise ( I walk 2 miles a day) helps. If I go without walking a couple days I start feeling that way again. What I eat also effects me. Keep a healthy diet. It's easy to stray for me since I have little restrictions and can eat what I want again but need to remember this gift I was given won't last if I don't take care of it. Just need to get into a groove.

Thank you for your reply been walking and playing golf seems to be getting better. The meds are probably the source to my problems

The problem is the steroids. Do you have problems with sleep at night? I remember having issues with sleep, so was very tired during the day. Talk with your transplant center and maybe they can reduce your prednisone and your immunosuppressants.

Try taking a walk everyday. I know you are tired, but you would be surprised that activity does help. Start by taking a short walk with gradually increasing the time you are out. This is a good time to be doing that. I walk in my neighborhood which gives me a lot to look at. Before I know it I have been walking for 30 minutes.

Today, I am 23 1/2 years post-transplant (1999) and do not take any prednisone anymore and my immunosuppressants are reduced. I lead a full and active life and now that I am retired, I do a lot of traveling.

Take care and talk with your transplant docs.

Thank you for your reply I’ve mentioned it several times to my coordinator and Dr. I’m almost certain it’s the Meds but they’re not willing to adjust yet due to many complications with rising Creatinine. Seems to be getting better with exercise hope it continues.
