Manganese levels
the neurologist said that it is extremely rare that I have such high levels in my bloods and unfortunately the only option would be a
liver
transplant
. he said if not, the levels will keep building in your body and because your Liver can’t for some reason, fill it out eventually and he doesn’t know

Hi, I had a
liver

Reintroduce myself for new members
I too had PBC for some 20 years before receiving a life saving
liver
transplant
18+ years ago - and am doing well. I know first hand the many challenges someone with this disease encounters on an almost daily basis. For 43 years, before my retirement 9 years ago, I practiced as a registered nurse .

Liver Transplant - Lest we forget
All the imagery people who complete the various
liver
scans. Right up to the
Liver
transplant
team, and of course not forgetting those special people who stand by us during these difficult times. Our Wives, Husbands, partners etc. I had my
liver
transplant
back in 2016.

Likelihood of liver transplantation
At the time of admission, the medical team made clear that if he continued to drink, he would likely be dead within 6 months and the best case scenario discussed was approx 2 years without a

transplant

Defenestration or detouring of cysts in PLD
Recently went to King’s London for possible
liver
transplant
tests due to a large polycystic
liver
and they feel it is the wrong time. That enough good parts of my liver remain. However it is very large and they are considering draining the cysts. Anyone out there had similar experience ? Jo

Disability information
For those with advanced stage PBC, a
liver
transplant
may be an option and has proven effective at extending life expectancies for those experiencing liver failure. However, recurrence is a possibility post-surgically.

Anniversary of varices bleed
Informed that
liver
would not improve and would require a
transplant
. Following this I decided to stay positive and accept that would be the outcome needed to extend and improve my quality of life.
