Preparing for a Colonoscopy when suffering with Cirrhosis. On going bowel issues. Future plans.
My Cirrhosis was discovered as I was having stomach pains and irregular bowel movements, often with a degree of urgency. This was last August. I have had Bloods, Fibroscan and Ultrasound and from this, diagnosed. To date I haven't seen a NHS Consultant, although I have been referred. I did pay for a

Trouble in rehab
Hello folks I am in second week of residential rehab. Going well, detox was fine and getting stuck into all the programmes and groups. I developed a new but mild pain around and under my left collarbone late morning but it seems to getting worse. Don't say ask the rehab nurse as she is an agency person

URQ fullness
First of all thank you for this site, it has been of great help to me. Question, about a month ago I went in for a general physical as I was having RUQ “fullness feeling”. I was in the past a moderate to heavy drinker so it made me nervous after “googling”. Had slightly elevated alt and ast. Less than

Worried about CT results
Had a Ct scan last night of abdomen and really worried for the results, is no new good news? I don’t even know if they’ll write to me with the results or call me or what, I don’t have a follow up booked. They said my Gp wouldn’t get the results and it would go back to the consultant. I feel like they

Pressure from doctors to for feeding tube or trachea
My friend is still on a ventilator. The doctor is saying no more Covid, no more pneumonia. His parents are being told he has Covid brain. His eyes r open but brain won’t signal lungs to breathe? Doc says get a permanent feeding tube? It’s only been 6 days since sedation drugs left.

🥱🥱🥱 and sleep!
Hi guys. I have just had a liver transplant and I am struggling to sleep. I seem to wake every 4 hours and cat nap when fatigue kicks in. I have a fare idea that it is the medication. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do without taking sleeping tablets. Can I just say, I'm taking vitamin

Is running hard on the liver?
Could running hurt my liver? Been going through some liver stuff…I’m ok by test standards but pain and digestive pain are still killing me…took a month off running and came back to it yesterday…the rest of the day felt like it was more inflamed and generally felt kinda sick. Am wondering if I made it

What anesthesia they will give me on c-section
Hello ladies All your answers are very important to me. My baby is in breech position so we decided to go for c-section and this is my first pregnancy. I just want to know what kind of anesthesia they will give me. Because someone told me they inject into your spine. So I'm a little nervous because

Pain on left side
So after years of being dismissed by doctors and fighting tooth and nail for ct scans, ultrasounds and a fibroscan, I am still no where closer to a definitive diagnosis despite pain being ever present. As of late pain has started on the left side of my abdomen. This is a new development so I got a scan

Decompensated
Panicking :( I was admitted to hospital 19 months ago with jaundice and ascites, diagnosed with a decompensated liver. I got drained and stayed in for maybe a fortnight ? (sorry my brain is a total fuzz). I've been booze free since the day I was admitted and my liver doc says that my function tests

Baby in breach position
My baby is in breech position. And I'm confused and afraid to do ecv. Because during this 8 month pregnancy I already faced many problems and always feel pain.(because yesterday dr. Told me that ecv is a painful procedure. And I don't want to give more pain to my baby.) Now I don't want any more pain

Long overdue 'anti alcohol report'
Morning, I hope you find this relevant. It's been seen as a watershed proclamation. The so called benefits of small amounts alcohol (especially wine) have been touted for centuries when it comes to cardiovascular health. Four days ago the World Heart Federation officially changed the message. Unequivocally

I suspect I have a pbc. Where to begin? Indy.
Not Diagnosed. Just googling and it really seems this is what I must have. I had esophagus cancer 13 years ago. And I feel this has stressed my liver. Never had a drop of alcohol? Thank goodness.

Progression of liver disease
From fatty liver do you always progress to hepatitis and then possibly cirrhosis? Or can you go straight from fatty liver to cirrhosis? I couldn’t find anything online that answered this question. Thank you
