LDH Lactate Dehydrogenase Off The Charts - Why?
I completed my 12 months Obinutuzumab/Venclexta treatment regimen March 1st. I go tomorrow (Friday, May 27, 2022) for my first doctor visit since ending treatment. I feel great. No problems that I know of....BUT. Yesterday I went to the lab to have blood drawn and tests run in preparation of my

Fibroscan results
I wanted to share my recent scan results to spur on anyone with severe fibrosis/early cirrhosis. From a diagnosis of NAFLD F3-4 in November 2020 following an MRi showing bridging fibrosis and fibroscan score of 11.6 kpa, my fibroscan score yesterday was 5.6kpa F0-F1. After my first ultrasound scan

*Sensitive* He’s finally here - but now we have to have him over to the surgeons 💔 UPDATED
UPDATE 3.6.22: I just wanted to say a massive thank you so much for all of the kind messages and words of support 🙏. Our beautiful boy survived 5.5 hours of open heart surgery on Wed. We we were told by the surgeons that “it went smoothly”, which was a huge relief. However, it is still very early days

Jaundice
Just wondering if jaundice can happen slowly over time, as it builds up. Often hear stories of folks suddenly waking up yellow with an acute attack, but my husband is waiting transplant and although his bilirubin remains relatively stable, it is obviously persistently out of range. He had a bout of jaundice

Post 45 natural birth or c-section
Has anyone had a natural birth at 45 weeks or older? I am flip flopping between natural or c-section. I like the stressless safety that c-section offers my baby and the fact that it pretty much rules out an emergency c-section which I want to avoid at all costs… and then I think of the fact that natural

Liver Fibrosis F3
Hi new on here. Had a positive chat to the British Liver Trust for my F3 Fibrosis. I was told they caught it before it turned to Cirrhosis and that it can be reversed with diet as mine is probably linked to being overweight and Fatty Liver. I have been diagnosed with GAVE (aka Watermelon Stomach)

Gastroscopy to check for varices
Right, I'm at the next step in my Alcohol Related Liver Disease Journey. After being advised in February that I may have Cirrhosis and portal hypertension I ceased drinking. Have done quite well with a couple of relapses with visitors, just the one day each time then back on the wagon. I had the ultra

Urso and pain
I have been taking urso now for 6 months. I still get a pain almost daily in my liver area. Sometimes it's a sharp stab that makes jump and other times it's just a dull ache. I wonder to myself when it happens is my liver getting worse and its constantly on my mind. Does this happen to anybody else?

Any thoughts on ELF blood tests v Fibroscan, i want to see if 2 years of good diet, weight loss, no drink etc has made a difference, everytime I get a Fibroscan I am dissappointed as the KPA is going up not down, I just want to try and find out why and thought should I get the advanced Liver blood tests

Methotrexate and A1AD caused cirrhosis
Hello! I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis for 27 years (since I was 25) and the medication I took was methotrexate. Four years ago I had a fatty liver and was told to stop the methotrexate, loose a bit of weight and cut down drinking. I followed the advice and as far as I was aware, my liver went back to

Help, please!
Hi, there! I am a first time mum and I am here after some advice about pumping colostrum before c-section. My midwife recommended to start but I cannot do it. I tried with a manual pump and with my hand, and nothing came out from my breasts. I really want to breastfeed my baby boy. Is that means that

decompensated cirrhosis - aching
Partner diagnosed 22.12.22 decompensated alcohol related cirrhosis. Stopped drinking then. Bloods slowly improving until a bit of a crisis 3 weeks ago when he was suffering from awful edema (he previously couldn't take water tablets due to low sodium). He is back home and bloods are now looking better

Here to give some hope
My gorgeous baby boy was delivered via C-section last Monday. After 1 full round of IVF and 4 transfers, this man was our last embryo and wow are we happy he stuck! I never once managed to enjoy pregnancy as was so scared he wouldn’t make it, despite no signs whatsoever of trouble. I hope for everyone
