Been going through some liver stuff…I’m ok by test standards but pain and digestive pain are still killing me…took a month off running and came back to it yesterday…the rest of the day felt like it was more inflamed and generally felt kinda sick. Am wondering if I made it worse by running all those months….I don’t have any scarring and my liver enzymes are normal but the GI said I had some “fatty deposits” in the liver. According to fibroscan. How can I still have this much pain if my enzymes are normal and there’s no scarring…hoping this reversed all the way soon. This is alcohol related. I’m 30.

RUQ could be caused by many things besides the liver. As you have been a drinker in the past it is natural to assume it might be, but that rules out a lot of other problems. Other people have tried changing diet, cutting out gluten then cutting out dairy etc... so as to help rule out any allergies, it might be worth keeping a food diary and trying specific diet restrictions to see if it has any effect (decrease OR increase) on the discomfort. Then when you next see your doctor you will have some more relevant information. Which will also show that this is still an ongoing concern as you are also looking for a remedy.
Now, that said, you mentioned fatty deposits, recently another member who iirc is a runner, also suffers RUQ. This in no way infers that you have the same, I'm mentioning it simply because you are a runner as well. Anyway she has a focal fatty deposit near the ligament that holds the liver and I wondered if the fat around the ligament allowed the liver a little movement, because she said it feels as if it moves when she runs.
I hope you can find the source of the discomfort, even small pain that is long term will have a detrimental effect on our mental wellbeing over time.
Morning guitar, Dave has a point. To turn around fatty liver deposits, you have to eat healthy no sugar cut salt right down 2g a day, red meat, fried foods, takeaway's, full fat creams, crisps and cheesy crackers. You also have to exercise, now running never hurt me when I had a fatty liver (I was 30). So you may need endoscopy (for a camera down). A friend had an ulcer in his stomach, which was treated. He had a similar situation to yours which also affected his digestive system. Do you suffer with acid indigestion? Now you need to rule things out....🤔 I hope this helps. Danny x
