Advice if possible
Hi, Apologies in advance for the long story but I have been so worried about this and am hoping there may be someone on here with similar experience who may be able to reassure me. I am a 65 year old female. I rarely drink alcohol, am only 5 lbs into the overweight bracket, do some form of exercise

38 weeks planned c section - Steroid injection?
I’m currently 34+1 with our IVF miracle and having a planned c section at 38 weeks (had complicated emergency c section with first child) but they’ve said they offer an optional steroid injection if you deliver planned before 39 weeks which can apparently help with breathing for baby IF they have fluid

I was referred for a fibroscan after a blood test. It took approx 11 months for scan which happened a few weeks before Christmas. The scan revealed I had nafld with a score of 36. This was all conducted by a specialist nurse, as yet I have not seen a consultant and had no further tests or scans. I had

THE “C” WORD
Before I get kicked off this forum, “C” stands for Cirrhosis. And yes on my ultrasound report it mentions the dreaded “C” word. But there really is no difference between Cirrhosis and fybrosis except the degree of fybrosis at some arbitrary stage is classed as Cirrhosis. Immediately we hear or see

Questions
As I stated in my first post here, they told me my MRE results were "mild scarring."I thought it was gonna be a lot worse although I know scarring is to be taken seriously. I am awaiting to see stomach doctor and will no doubt learn more about what I'm dealing with. I have read early fibrosis doesn't

NAFLD
was interested if anyone with NAFLD/NASH diagnosis and F2 fibrosis have a had consistent low or normal AST/ALT ? Basically any blood test I have had is right in the normal range, this includes antibodies, platelets etc. How can I be so fatigued if there are no signs in blood work, ever ? My fibroscan

25 years of daily heavy drinking
hi, I have been one of the lucky ones, and I’m not writing this to gloat, I’ve read many of the stories on here about the effects of drinking, and it has been through reading these and re-assessing my own lifestyle that I was able to finally go to the doctor and tell him the truth about my drinking.

anal leakage and constipation
my husband has aggressive metastatic prostate cancer Gleason 8 with mets to lymph nodes, bladder, and pelvic bones and hips. He is scheduled to start triplet therapy in the next 2 weeks. Last week he underwent a TURP procedure in hopes to get rid of the catheter which he had for over 2 months. Unfortunately

Does anyone have experience of Lenvatinib as a treatment for liver cancer?
I was diagnosed with liver cancer at the end of September last year, 2022. After a scan I was told that I had one large tumour and several smaller ones, that the large tumour was near the main artery and was of a size that ruled out conventional treatment, liver transplant, radiotherapy, embolisation

New to group need help I'm so Scared
My husband went to hospital in Jan and was given ascitic drain, they drained 7 5 litres ans he lost 10kg overnight, they told us he had liver failure, this was genuinely the first we knew. He gave up drinking immediately and we thought he'd improve but...... in reality he has been in bed ever since!

Liver fibrosis
i did my fibroscan yesterday and the result came back alarming. My CAP value is at 400 and Fibrosis score 10.9. I’m arranging for a MRE to confirm diagnosis. Doctor says that this is still reversible. I’m so scared tha I’m having living cirrhosis. I’m only 39 yo with 2 young kids. Would appreciate

Carvedilol
Hi, I've had my second (annual) gastroscopy since my Cirrhosis was diagnosed last year in February. The results were pretty much as the first one, so no change. The doctor who performed this test, different to the first one, suggested that my GP put me on Carvedilol. GP prescribed it and I have now

While I was waiting for my liver transplant I had an emergency Stoma surgery and had a bag fitted, the surgeon that gave me my first check up for my liver said in about six months or so they will
