new diagnosis
Hella all. I was diagnosed a few years ago with nafld and then due to an error had a two year gap between a fibrosis score and getting the results. That showed a jump from 7 to 16 in the score so I was offered another test. The new test gave a result of 28 and a fat scores of 396/400. Understandably

2 years and counting…
I had supper with my family yesterday evening. I’d cooked some fish for Good Friday and had opened a bottle of chilled Chablis for them and a sparkling elderflower soft drink for myself. (Belvoir Farm - delicious). We were chatting and my brother reminded me that it was 2 years ago since I’d been in

Hysterectomy at 40 no endometriosis
I had my hysterectomy 2 days ago and although I am in pain I'm feeling relieved 😌. My consultant has told me he has found no signs of endometriosis and that my uterus was severely scarred from my 3 c-sections and my coil that had been embedded in my uterus. My bladder was stuck to my uterus and that

liver dialysis
hello Has anyone heard of this new treatment “Liver Dialysis’ apparently cleans your liver out of toxins, improves your bloods? I’m seeing my transplant team for the first time on 9th Aug and apparently I think I’m boarderline if I need a transplant, so was wondering if this treatment would be better

Good news
Whilst I am still struggling with getting help for my son, I had a bright spot of news this week. Had a consultation with my liver nurse, first time face to face since lockdown. My bloods have been great for several years, ultrasounds all good too. I had a Fibroscan as I hadn’t had one for around 4

I’m 31 and have had raised ALT on and off and GGT (ever since my first pregnancy ) (GGT highest 98 and alt highest 37) and a bit elevated cholesterol,no scaring of the liver (did a fibroscan) , every where i have looked it says your ALP level will decrease if Ursofalk is working. My ALP has never been

I don’t understand my diagnosis as it’s changed from being overdosed by opiates (hospital error). Now it’s change.
In 2019 I was found on the floor & I don’t know or recall nothing. I could not see as I had balloon out so big that I was unrecognisable. It was a while to get my sight back but I was also told that I was had Liver failure. All my different consultants got together and realised that I was on so much

Thiamin
Hi, my gp has prescribed Thiamine, she hasn't said how long I need to take it for ? I have a little bit of fatty liver, but that's all I know, what sort of question should I be asking and how worried should I be?

Diag with NAFLD Cirrhosis from biopsy, doctor said theres no difference between a 15kpa and 30kpa fibroscan score, confused?
Hi guys, I had a fibroscan score a couple months back of 30kpa which I took to suggest I had fairly advanced cirrhosis, had a biopsy which confirmed cirrhosis, when I was told the results I asked for liver doctor if given my fibroscan score of 30kpa it meant that I was far gone and could expect to become

Fatigue after eating
Hello - I was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis in 2020 and then as compensated in 2021, and have been feeling fairly well since then - eating well (with a few treats!) and looking after myself. Nutrition regime with LD
Morning all. Recently diagnosed with stage 4 decompensated liver disease with all the expected symptoms. Taking all care to reduce stain on the liver, spleen etc. Now just getting the hang of chronic long term care. Awaiting full prognosis (still some months away still) prior to transplant discussions

Using Lactulose long term
Does anyone know if it is safe to use Lactulose long term? I have IBS-C and have tried all the other remedies such as kiwis, psyllium, prunes ,linseeds, chia seeds and I drink plenty of water but find they either don’t work or give me terrible griping pains. Although I’d prefer to take a natural product
