BELLY FAT - A risk for the development of diabetes and CVD.
When these excess fatty acids drain into the liver, they trigger a chain reaction of changes — increasing the production of
LDL
‘bad’ cholesterol and triglycerides. During this time insulin can also become less effective in controlling blood sugar, so insulin resistance sets in, he explains.

Low TSH - but Dr increasing Levo?
I've just got my recent blood tests back - without T3 andT4 even though the doctor did assure me that they would be tested! My TSH is 0.02, range 0.30-6.00. I expected this, as I take thyroid s (without the doctors knowledge). What I didn't expect is for the doctor to want to increase Levo. I expected

Porridge with semi-skimmed organic milk. How long should one wait before eating as it contains calcium from milk, when taking levothyroxine.
I take levothyroxine in the morning and after an hour I have tea with milk and have fruit, bananna or oranges for breakfast. Before I went on levothyroxine I used to have porridge with milk and I miss it. My latest blood serum cholesterol test is highest its ever been at 5.4, serum HDL cholesterol level

Hi I'm new. But not new to fibromyalgia. Diagnosed 15 years ago. Now diagnosed with osteoarthritis pretty much everywhere. Greatest challenge besides the obvious has been medications. Lyrica? I'm allergic. Cymbalta? Makes me bitchy. Elavil? Made me gain 15 lbs which makes pain worse. Gabapentin? Makes

High Cholesterol
I just got a test done and these were the results: Total Cholesterol 7.42 HDL 1.79 TRIG 1.27
LDL
5.05 I know this is in high range but the lab guy told me since HDL is high, it sort of balances out so no need for any drastic changes in diet or medication at the moment.

Coming Off Statins - Update 2017-01-30 - Reversal of Heart Disease?
Aside from the fact that the
LDL
-C measure includes
LDL
sub-fractions that are harmless, I learned that the
LDL
-C value itself is calculated and not directly measured.
