Fish oil and cholesterol
However, my HDL is down compared to last year, and both my
LDL
, total cholesterol, and non HDL cholesterol are up. That's worrying. The only dietary change I've made is to include more eggs in my diet (I eat 2-3 eggs daily).

Adrenal cortisol & DHEA results
I recently did another saliva test to see if my cortisol/DHEA is affecting my insomnia. I feel so much better during the day, since starting Low dose Naltrexone (LDN), but would like to fix my chronic insomnia. My cortisol levels seem to have decreased slightly since my last text approx 19 months ago

Hello fellow Warriors. Just a quick update and then a quick question for all. I'm in the late stages of CRPC, just finished 7 "juicings" of Docetaxel which kept the PSA somewhat level, between 430 and 320, but more importantly it kept my ALT and LDH fairly low. It's been about 5 weeks since my last

While I'm waiting for my husband Fish test, I'm reading about Richter transformation and feel scared as my husband has some of the symtoms: - enlarged spleen, quite massive, developed quite quick within one year - always feel hot (sweat) - lose weight - about 2 kg in 6 months - low platelet -77 ( last

Living with one kidney
I am also fighting with increased cholesterol (296) ,
LDL
(205), triglycerides (232), low HDL (48). For the first time now my red blood cell count increased (5.17), along with hemoglobin (16.1) and Hematocrit (47.9).... Ah, so many little things that just make we worry !

Almonds, aspirin and statins - "Apolipoprotein B underlies the causal relationship of circulating blood lipids with coronary heart disease"
ApoB is found in a number of lipoproteins, including
LDL
-C and Lp(a). If these publications are correct, it would seem that it is the total number of ApoB-containing particles that is determinative.

High cholesterol
Now it’s my
LDL
at 147. My dr prescribed fish oil to lower triglycerides. My triglycerides are normal now. My total cholesterol is 247. How high was your cholesterol when medication was needed? I have always had great lipids Except once when I was in my early 20s. Thank you

UK cholesterol checks
My question is who offers a cholesterol test where the individual HDL and
LDL
are shown? I’m not happy about the home test kits. Places like Nuffield quote around £100+ for such tests ☹️ Any better offers out there? I also read about the APOb tests which sounds a better option going forward.

To Take Statins or Not - That is the Question - Here is the Answer:
.** **Source: https://www.docsopinion.com/2014/07/17/triglyceride-hdl-ratio/ By lowering your TG, you will automatically lower your
LDL
-C, but more importantly, you will lower
LDL
-P (particle number) which is a more relevant CVD risk metric than
LDL
-C.^ ^Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles

Statins...Yes or No?
Hi there, I’ve accessed blood test results taken earlier this year. Serum cholesterol was 6.6 Serum cholesterol ratio/HDL ratio was 4.9 Serum non HDL was 5.2 I’m 65 yo, and classed as “at risk” of CVD. I am on 7.5mg Ramipril. Last BP taken when bloods given, was 114/80. I don’t drink or smoke, walk

Flawed cholesterol study makes headlines
"A controversial study has argued that if you have a high
LDL
(bad) cholesterol level when you are aged over 60, you will live longer, there is no increased risk of cardiovascular disease and that statins will have little effect. But can we trust these bold claims?"

First time posting. Medication comments.
I understand the statin I’m on is one of the most potent, and it has successfully dropped my
LDL
to well below 2. I’m seeing my GP to see if I need to be on it, or if I can switch to something less potent or a lower dose.
