Statin Dosage
I have been taking 20mg of atorvastatin for a number of years. In a conversation with my Family Practicioner who prescribes my atorvastatin, I mentioned a recent study that suggests a positive effect of statins on advanced prostate cancer mortality. If I read the study correctly, most of the patients

Aerobic Exercise and Healthy Nutrition as Neuroprotective Agents for Brain Health in Patients with Parkinson’s Disease
Aerobic exercise (AE) as the activity using large muscle groups, rhythmic in nature (e.g., cycling, dancing, hiking, jogging, running, swimming, and walking) per se [27] may help in preventing cardiovascular disease, reducing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (i.e., HDL-C) and adipose tissue distribution

Psyllium husks - lower LDL
My cholesterol is very slightly above normal (total 5.2, HDL 1.6,
LDL
3.4, triglycerides 0.7). A heart scan showed some plaque on my LAD. The consultant wasn’t concerned but advised me to lower the
LDL
to below 2.6.

Please help me understand these results
The results of my last test and current cholesterol test results show my
LDL
HDL ratio is 3.3. But looks like everything is out of whack.. If I understand correctly. You are supposed to take the total cholesterol number and divide it by Your HDL Result and that is actually 5.0..

High LDL reduction
In lipid profile test my
LDL
is 160 mg/dL and total cholesterol is 225 mg/dL. My doctor has prescribed Rozavel 10 mg(rosuvastatin) once a day to reduce the
LDL
. I need some advice on whether to start taking statin or not. If not how to reduce this to reference level of less than 100 mg/dL.

Heart med side affects
My
LDL
has crashed to well below 2. Which we put down to the statins, so they clearly work. I’m reluctant to give them up completely for that reason. Having a blood test followed by GP appointment in 3 weeks time, to see what’s happening with my
LDL
. Uncertain where to go from here.
