Avocados are useful in lessening blood sugar
Also, everyone who are either Pre-diabetic or Diabetic would benefit from eating daily 1 correctly ripened Avocado, as this also helps wonderfully in lowering blood sugar levels. And Avocados have lots of other useful health benefits also, they are considered to be one of the topmost healthiest fruits

The ongoing failure of cholesterol "therapy"
There's a new drug on the market that's even more effective than statins at reducing LDL. Amgen's Repatha is to cholesterol what the Russian RDS-220 was to Fat Man: it absolutely obliterates your LDL. It is the Mother Of All Cholesterol Bombs. Unfortunately, it has no effect whatsoever on all-cause mortality

I have been Pre-diabetic from last 10 or more years, without it becoming Diabetes. Recently, one month ago I started in taking 2 glasses of Fenugreek(Methi) crushed seeds fermented in hot water daily, without fail, and in just one month's treatments my FBS and PPBS lessened much, and even my HbA1C also

After 3 months of pain and no diagnosis from my very helpful GP who put me on prednisone which helped with the pain, finally saw a rheumatologist yesterday who reckons I have PMR. He has upped the prednisone and then is tapering it off through the upcoming weeks. I am a 59 year old male. I also have

Relationship between serum cholesterol and Graves' orbitopathy (GO): a confirmatory study
The abstract of this paper is like many others in that it switches between "high cholesterol" and "low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol". Well, perhaps it all makes more sense in the full paper? (Though that is behind a paywall.) Still, the simple observation of an association is interesting and

Free triiodothyronine level correlates with statin responsiveness in acute myocardial infarction
Just possibly, low T3 is the underlying issue - rather than why statins have poor responsiveness in at least some patients. [i]J Geriatr Cardiol. 2018 Apr; 15(4): 290–297. doi: 10.11909/j.issn.1671-5411.2018.04.009 PMCID: PMC5997620

Dickensian gruel and a medium lettuce leaf ... Hard Times indeed
I posted a reply to Lin-Calif this morning extolling the virtues of low carb - my doctor phoned just now with the good news I've reduced my HbA1c level from 54 to 49, she will 'unlabel' me as Type 2 at 48.. hooray! BUT, says dear Doctor, my potassium level is increasing so here we go again, researching

Evening all, I have quite a few symptoms all ticked accordingly from the Thyroid UK website. I've asked the Dr for a Thyroid Function test and she's agreed to do one for me but she said it would be a non fasting one. Is that correct? I thought i'd have to do a fasting blood test early morning or is that

Are these readings normal?
Hi All, Hope you are doing good. Below are my readings for the last 2 days. Yesterday, when I took my fasting blood sugar reading on the glucometer, it was 101. I took another reading in the next 1 minute by using the same blood. It took me one minute to change the strip and this time it was 70.
