Papworth Duck Pond
The old Papworth hospital was famous for its duck pond. It is rumoured that heart transplant patients were ready to go home when they could do a lap of the pond I have not seen the new Papworth and was wondering if the landscaping included a duck pond? 🦆

Post transplant tacrolimus doses
Just curious - husband had liver transplant 2014 and came home on 8mg which was reduced to 5mg and has since been taking the same amount of Advagraf - so 5 years later he is still on 5mg 🤔🤔🤔 his last bloods said it was below target range (4-10 I think) 🤷♀️ - has anyone else experienced this ????

PBC Name Change
Some are asking why we “no” longer use the name Primary Biliary Cirrhosis for PBC. As most of you know, the name Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC) was very deceiving and carried a stigma with its diagnosis. For years PBC wasn't diagnosed until late disease stage and the patient had developed cirrhosis

Worried about after kidney transplant.
Recently I have been informed that my gfr has fell to under 20 and I should be prepared to start looking for a donor. I don’t even know where to start. Hoping this forum will help me with some tips. Next I don’t even know how to live my life now do I continue as I am, or do I focus fully on finding

Bronchiectasis & pseudomonas treatment
My daughter was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis two years ago .We believe it was a case of bad management through not being given any antibiotics when she had a bad chest infection which ended up with hospitalisation with pneumonia. The complication was that as she had a kidney transplant 17 years ago

Amyloidosis
I am new to this online community. I was diagnosed with APO-CII amyloidosis which has affected my kidneys by the Mayo Clinic in 2017. It is a very rare form of a very rare disease. I'm interested to know if anyone else in this online community also has this disease. At this point, I am close to Stage

Patience to Reach the Finish Line
The process for evaluation for a kidney transplant is so long and having to wait for decision from the committee who meets every Thursday about potential kidney transplant patients is very hard. The one thing putting mine off is that they’re not sure to give me a transplant since my issues with my heart

ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR GETTING READY FOR IMPENDING TRANSPLANT
I believe I reported the other day that I have signed up for the hep C transplant study at my transplant hospital. I have been told by the study chief transplant physician that it could be three days or it could be 70 days before I am called for a transplant. I have not been as focused on learning more

Scared
Hi, I am scheduled for my abulation Nov 4th. Not scared of the procedure but scared that I might not be here for them to do it. I have all the symptoms of 4th stage heart failure. Newest one is that I have no appetite. With the success rate I have been given I'm afraid. Just lost my sister due to waiting

Bone Marrow Transplant.
Hello fam! Im looking for info from anyone who has had a bone marrow transplant! Provided I have a viable doner I’m in line to get one. Not going to lie I’ve got all types of mixed emotions! The tough part is being told this procedure will take 3 months to complete. I will have to travel to Boston

Hey. So its been 9 years now of my kidney transplant. I am 17 years old now. Is it okay to get a tatoo like it won't harm my kidney or anything right?
