Hey everyone... :-)

More great good news is coming our way...

This article has already successfully run 'Human Trials', and in the USA, it's about to be accepted by the FDA for a Phase III Clinical Trial... Impressive results as you will see from reading through the following Press Release.

Best wishes

Steve

Fantastic news. Perhaps this breakthrough is the beginning of the end for the life sentence blood cancer patients have to endure.

Hey Norman... :-)

It definitely has some potential for improving the odds from circa a 50% success rate to perhaps 75-80%, and I'd say that and no GVHD would be extremely welcome good news... 8-)

Best wishes

Amazing! I have two questions.. first is this drug going to be patented or i didn't understand the last sentence of the article very well? And the second one is who can be donor of umbilical cord?

Own child's cord blood if preserved at childbirth?

Hey there... :-0)

Well I guess that creators of these methods/therapies require some protection, to be fair...

As to who can donate? I have no idea, so sorry can't help with that one...

I am in Montreal and Dr Sauvageau was interviewed today on the radio at 98.5 FM and he was saying hoping to start the phase 3 next fall and they already have an oral form of that drug who can be potentially use for helping not getting old so they say they will réinvite him when that part in more precise too to talk about it...seems a very promising drug in many things

Bonjour bonsoir Artemide...

It is indeed a rather fascinating paper is it not... Hopefully, we shall all learn much more, and sooner rather than later...

I was actually going to Post another piece of medical Press on a newly discovered Protein that is set to defeat Sarcopenia in ageing adults, and prevent the loss of muscle mass that generally causes this condition...

I will find it upon my return, as I am off to the store for my vege's & fruit... Later

Au revoir...

Thanks for sharing this Steve, my friend. If this works as per early testing and gets subsequent approval etc it will be a major discovery and could transform the SCT process on a number of levels.

As an example my transplant didn't 'take' initially and I was due a top up of cells but stopping my immuno-suppressant kicked it into life. Making my new cells multiply early on might have avoided this problem. Also as you know my GVHD is still active 4 years on and I'm still on low dose immuno-suppressant.

This remarkable research bodes well for future Transplantees.

Keep up all your good work buddy !!

Regards - Chris

Hey Chris... 8-)

Very good to hear from you my northern MPN brother... I do hope that you are traveling well buddy...

Yes, your struggles and MPN journey have always been of legendary proportion to me... And you, such an inspiration...

As you say Chris, these upcoming Phase III trials may prove very promising indeed, and might boost ASCT success rates by as much as 30%, while also alleviating the incidence of GVHD... (?)

Definitely one for all of us to keep an eye out for when this next trial starts to produce results...

Best wishes buddy, stay happy & well... :-)
