After having a rocky time being removed from the list as transplant would be too risky to being placed back on the list for 8 weeks review to make a judge that the window has closed or not, my mother got a call 29th October at around 9.30pm that someone would be picking her up at 11.30pm for transplant. She is on the single lung transplant list and received an offer of a left lung. She had her surgery at 5am on the 30th October. It’s early days but she’s out of surgery and doing ok for now.
Overwhelmed for the opportunity for transplant and the generosity of the donor their family to give my mother the chance at a better quality of life.

Assessment can be a lengthy process depending on tests to be done ... if at least a referral has been sent it give you the opportunity to get more details and you can make an informed decision... thanks for your kind words
