Help?
My GP is trying her hardest to find something rare that makes sense of all the symptoms but I think it’s just B12 and chronic low
iron
. She has me on 1x monthly hydrox injection after loading doses of 1 per week for 3 weeks.

Iron to alleviate RLS symptoms.
I want to take
iron
to help but my dr has no clue as to how much to take, if it will work, etc. Anybody out there taking
iron
which is helping and how much should I take? Thanks, Judith

Ninja Gp 😀 appointment
I sent an online request for a full
iron
panel and the elusive vitamin D.test that was promised last time ...and asked to speak about the recent diagnosis of autoimmune thyroiditis. .. within seconds of sending the request I got a text message asking me to make an appointment..so again booked online

Ferrittin level (Different Opinions)
He agreed that I should take an
iron
supplement and would include this in a letter to my GP along with the MPN results. For the las couple of weeks I have been taking 100mg Gabapentin at 6pm.

Ropinirole reduction
I have had my
iron
levels checked and they were very low, this has now been resolved. My question is really about taking other meds to help with the withdrawal.

Levothyroxine dose increase, advice please
No vitamin test, but my
iron
levels reduced back into the normal range from being slightly over range. I am currently on 75 levo, haven't been feeling well for a while and my gp agreed to a 25 increase, but she was worried I might go to far the other way.

interesting find
puzzles me is if I’m having to have high amounts of b12 shots because of p.a and functional b12 deficiency why do other supplements work to keep my other levels up when I’m on them,it’s a bit contradictory saying I can’t absorb because of no intrinsic factor and yet I can see my other ranges,ie folate ,

Impatient Patient feeling anxious 😬
Spoke to GP yesterday and they said my
iron
levels and vitamin levels are fine! They won’t increase to 50mcg levothyroxine for another 4 weeks after doing blood test. Feels like this is all being dragged out when it could be sorted out sooner!

What level should CA125 be after total hysterectomy & bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy?
However, both my
iron
levels and B12 are abnormally high and my thyroid levels (hypothyroid)are also out of whack again. The GP has stated categorically that it is impossible for someone to get ovarian cancer if you have had both your ovaries removed and a total hysterectomy.

what to think?
My
iron
was low 5 years ago (although not anemic obviously) but it was never mentioned to me and on test I just had it was normal - ferritin 25. I was frankly hoping it would be low and that would be the reason for all of this.

Feeling woefully undermedicated……
Ferritin continues to be inadequate 42 ug/L [23.0 - 300.0] and I’ve ordered a full
iron
panel. I think I’ve read that low ferritin can be a factor poor tolerance of thyroid medication. Can anyone confirm or elaborate on this?

Advice on iron supplements
My ferrin is low, so I'm going to start
iron
supplements. I'd appreciate any good quality links and sources of information re: dosage. I intend to test ferritin again in 4-6 weeks. Onwards and upwards! 😊

What Bloodwork for initial RLS appointment?
For my first visit, I would like to have all relevant bloodwork done BEFORE my appointment:
iron
, folate, B, etc. For example, there seem to be different "
iron
" tests. This will give us a heads-up on my RLS and something to talk about.

Any thought as to why ? ? ?
Mean cell heamoglobin conc, blood 313 g/L Low 😗 I cant help but wonder why considering I am prescribed folic acid plus I take gentle
iron
. I had a full blood count done when I saw the reumatologist but as yet not received the results to compare. I shall try and chase them up tomorrow.
