Buprenorphine timing

Hi , following on from my last posts, I am going to collect my script for the above in tablet form from the G.P. today - please can I ask what time people are taking the tablet for the best effect? The consultant has suggested 7pm.

I have my 1st Iron Infusion booked for the 2nd August so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the combination will bring some relief.

Depends what time you sleep. I take 0.4mg but cut the pill in half and take 0.2mg at 9 pm and 0.2mg at midnight. I'm asleep by 1 am. If you are just starting Buprenorphine, you may experience nausea. I had it very badly. Cannabis helped enormously.

thanks Joolsg , I will go for 7 and 9 with the hope of being asleep for 10pm ! It’s got to be worth a try !

I’m on 0.6. I go to to bed at 10.00 and then read/watch stuff in my laptop until 11.00. So I place the two tablets under the tongue - a 0.4 plus a 0.2, (with a 5 mg Melatonin capsule against the insomnia side effect) - at 10.00.

thanks dick Jones - do you not find that the melatonin makes your legs worse ?

Does the dose of Buprenorphine you take at night keep the RLS at bay for the whole of the next day ?

The script was not ready when I called at the G.P. 🙄 I will call back again today. I am hoping that there is not some issue with them prescribing it ( they have detailed instructions on the letter from the consultant).

I get severe stomach pain and indigestion from Buprenorphine so I’ve been trying to take it after dinner, which I usually have very late. I usually end up taking a small amount with some yoghurt a few hours late before I drop to sleep. This system helps but it is awkward. Ideally I’d take it about two hours before sleeping.

got the script from the doctor .. chemist didn’t have the medication! Try again tomorrow !
