Iron/Ferritin
Dear All,I have now had my latest blood tests back and my ferritin levels, with the help of
iron
tablets, has risen from 45 to 120. However, unlike others in our group, my RLS are still pretty awful. Do I have to be patient and hope the RLS now improve???? Otherwise it will be pretty depressing.

Methadone + Pregabalin + Trazodone - So far so good
Iron
supplements, Vit. C, magnesium, B12, even ashwaganda. As a result of supplementing, my
Iron
/Ferritin/Transferritin is very high, so that's not the culprit. Tried different diets suggested here: gluten free, lactose free, low oxalate, keto, etc.

Drug interactions/conflicts
I am convinced that at some point I had read/heard that ferrous fumarate was contra-indicated for me and the EMC states "Absorption of both
iron
and antibiotic may be reduced if Fersamal (Ferrous Fumarate) is given with tetracycline."

Which test - Medichecks or Monitor My Health?
I don’t have Hashi’s (as far as I am aware anyway) and apart from thyroid function I need to know where my vitamins and
iron
levels are (hair has been falling out and not growing). Thanks all. I’ll let you know if I successfully prick myself and make myself bleed 🙄

Weening off Pramipexole to start Gabapentin
My
iron
levels are high and checked regularly. My symptoms are keeping me awake now and I expect after so many years it will take some time to ween off Sifrol. My Dr. is wonderful but we have worked together all these years and he is no expert on RLS.

RLS during in the morning and during the day when trying to take a nap?
But these 2 months of
iron
seemed to have helped a lot, there are bad days when she can't handle RLS, and for that she takes a very small dose of Clonazepam that helps. So she is about to have her bloodwork done to check ferriting and the whole
iron
panel.

Iron test - unsure how to interpret results
I was advised to get a full
iron
test done after a test for thyroid levels was within range. I'm trying to determine the cause of severe fatigue and muscle pain, twitches, digestion issues, headaches, pins & needles.

Low Ferritin
If the ferritin is low, do I need to have other
iron
tests? And how hard is that to convince a GP to do? I don't want to go through the drain of fighting to see the GP if they aren't going to do anything anyway.

Besremi One Year Update
As a result, I do have some
iron
in my body. CMP was all within normal ranges. And finally, my recent JAK2 allele test shows a small decrease in the % of allele burden. It was 56.18 right after I started Besremi and is now 51.89.

Feeling hopeful.
I asked for blood tests for VitaminsD and B12 and
iron
. I found out consultants had asked for a raft of tests too so I got the whole lot done together. She also referred me to the sleep clinic and prescribed a new spray for my sinuses.

Did anyone see the Nightwalkers Fall magazine?
Most of the issue was about
iron
and RLS. Had several good articles but a couple of things I had not heard before, or at least I don't remember. When doing a full panel
iron
and especially ferritin levels, if you have had an infection or inflamatory process (?), wait 6 weeks before testing.

b12 deficiency symptoms
Plus
iron
, folic acid however I’m having weird issues with my eyes/ eyelids including feeling like they don’t move properly and frequent blinking which I’d hard to control. It’s quite odd and upsetting.

Back issues causing rls
I've never thought my rls was caused by lack of
iron
but I've often thought it was coming from my back. Same symptoms just different cause. I was on 400 mg gabapentin, highest 800mg. I'm now reducing this and find I can without any real problems. I'm now on 200mg taken around 6pm.
