Hi from Australia 🦘
I am aware of my food triggers, drug triggers and I'm supplementing as advised here with elemental
iron
to try and increase. It's " normal " apparently but we know that may not be enough in the brain. I have a script for Gabapentin 300mg.

Does The Thyroid Affect Potassium Levels?
I was on
iron
tablets for most of the year as I had
iron
deficiency anaemia but bloods all looking good, and my liver function tests have all come back a little high so they suggested stopping them now as my ferritin and full blood count levels are all towards the higher end of the ranges.

Celiac and CKD
I need procrit shots weekly just to keep my
iron
levels at the bare minimum. I’m not particularly interested in eating which may make the situation worse. If you have celiac and CKD how do you feel?

My journey to date
I was also able to get an
iron
infusion- just received the second of two parts. She prescribed hydrocodone and Tylenol for airplane travel. That didn’t work and I had two unhappy flights. I just wondered if anyone has any advice for me at this juncture? Thank you!

Anxiety and P.A.
I'm doing what I can to get on top of my pernicious anaemia, more frequent injections,
iron
infusion etc. Is anxiety/depression linked to P.A? Do things get better as the P.A. is treated better? I was never a person who cried. How can I nip this in the bud so I don't sink again?

Low iron levels with a heart condition
Has anyone else experienced this low
iron
? Will I need
iron
tablets forever? I think my periods play a part in this as I'm still on dual blood thinners so they're ridiculously heavy.

Higher Hepcidin levels in RLS patients
Hepcidin decreases the level of
iron
by reducing dietary absorption and inhibiting
iron
release from cellular storage. Hepcidin production increases when
iron
levels rise above the normal range of 65 to 175 mcg/dL in males and 50 to 170 mcg/dL in females.

Fatigue
Good Day Everyone My question is, should I be feeling fatigued with lymphocytes around 43 and haemoglobin at 12.1 g/dl or could the fatigue be caused by some other blood deficiency such as
iron
or vitamin B12.

Clueless and looking for advice!
Also have been prescribed
iron
tablets in the past and struggle to absorb them- they give me unpleasant bowel issues. Have been taking 2000ug of b12 in the form of methylcobalamin which I’ve been told is perhaps not the best supplement to take.

I need some help with this
We thought it was the
iron
I was taking, but I stopped that last week. These cramps are not in my calves. They are in my feet and ankles. They start out with a dull ache and then my foot locks up and twists and the ankle looks like someone sucked all the air out of my body.

Low ferritin, high iron
I thought I had too much
iron
. My UIBC was lab low at 91(range 131-425), my
iron
was lab high at 204(range 27-159), and
iron
saturation was lab high at 69%(range 15-55%).But ferritin was somewhat low, though not lab low. It was 44 with a range of 15-150.

Should I see an endocrinologist ?and if so can anyone recommend a good one I'm ased in South wales but willing to travel.
I even wrote everything down before my appointment so not to forget anything but she wasn't interested in anything I said and went as far as to say the symptoms I'm getting won't be associated to low thyroid or
Iron
which baffled me as they are symptoms on the NHS website.

Of note, my mother had her first

Start of SCT journey
I know my
iron
level is too high and have been on
iron
reducing medication for the last couple of months. Increase in
iron
is due to fortnightly RBC transfusion of 2 or 3 units each time and that is only keeping my Hb at just above 80.

Pramipexole to Gabapentin
I am currently taking an
iron
supplement to elevate my
iron
levels before I make the switch to gabapentin. My general health otherwise is pretty good. I am a 60 year old male and i am reasonable active for the best part.
