is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Sorry for the long message but would appreciate knowing if this is typical or if I am being a little dramatic and unrealistic. diagnosed with RA nearly 2 years ago. Took a while but pretty much back to normal after moving to injecting 20mg MTX, 200g hydroxy and folic acid 6 days a week. Took just over

My partner did two of these tests already and had strange results, the first test came back over 300 and the second 600, the range is up to 200, she is not aware of taking anything with

RLS - tapering off Pramipexole & using codeine
Hi all, firstly am so grateful I found this forum. I have learnt so much and feeling hopeful so thanks for all the insights and advice. After reading about all the warnings of augmentation and seeing the reduced effectiveness of pramipexole after taking it for 10+ years, I am now coming off it. Down

If you also have thyroid problems has the
iodine
content affected your thyroid levels? I was diagnosed osteoporosis 3yrs ago trying to avoid medications as reacted to biphosphates.

Hi Guys Not posted for a while I was just wondering if it safe to Aspirin my husband as NAFLD and is suffering with constant headaches he’s been prescribed paracetamol but they don’t seem to be helping so the GP gave him codeine which just made him sick. How long between does changes?
Hi all 8 weeks ago I started 75mcg of levothyroxine daily following overly successful RAI. I think they left me too long before starting medication as the wanted to be sure the RAI had worked this time as I was slightly hypo before the treatment due to over medication. when I started the Levo my Tsh

Hi 👋 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2021........I have been convinced that maybe it isn't fibo, but speaking to a top doctor (whilst in hospital for an unrelated matter) he asked why I'd came to this conclusion.........I said because although I'm in pain when I do not take my codeine I'm not

Hashis and Graves? Watch and Wait has now caught up.
About 15 months or so, I had an appointment for a thyroid specialist as my thyroid tests pointed towards Graves. I had been hypothyroid for about 17years when my different results meant my gp prescribing less and less levo. When the amount became 12.5mcg, (after an original 150 mcg) I asked to be

Can thyroid function recover after RAI
I received RAI in 2010 for alleged nodules but then consultant thought I may have had Graves disease instead. Over the last 13 years, I have had my levothyroxine reduced from 150 to 100 and I fear it will be reduced again. I am 55 years old. My question is why does the doseage need reducing? Is it

The uptake results are in... and more confusion
I've received my uptake scan results today, which I was expecting to show a toxic nodule or few. Instead the report states..... There is uptake seen throughout the thyroid gland with relative increased tracer activity on the right when compared to the left, however, no focal nodule is seen. Thyroid

Success (I hope) with Gabapentin
I have had RLS for more years than I can remember. For years I took mirapexin till I augmented. I tried Pregabalin but I felt dizzy all the time and I put on a lot of weight quickly. I started tramadol and then alternated between that and mirapexin ( yes I went back on it). I coped like this for a long

Poor communication or misunderstanding?
So... I saw my NHS Consultant on Monday about my leg pain and inability to walk when flaring and we discussed my surgery etc and I left the appointment feeling pretty deflated. Long story short she's told me I have to go on the progesterone only pill while I wait for my 1st Lap (hopefully less than 6

Opioids
Have been following posts, have studied Mayo Clinic, been back to rlshelp.org Have read Dr Earlys research , follow several Rls groups . I have done the DAs (unfortunately) The side effects of Gabapentin and Pregabalin far out way the benefits. Iron is good, I get infusions as needed. I use Magnesium

Should I apply sick day rules following a foot operation?
I had an operation yesterday to remove osteophyte ring from around my big toe. I’m home now and it’s very painful despite taking the codeine 30mg they prescribed. My PMR is no different and I’m on 6mg prednisolone but am I supposed to apply sick day rules or do I only do that if PMR gets worse?

CT scan iodine query
This uses
iodine
based dye to show up the arteries. My question is, would that type of
iodine
(guessing it's a compound) impact my thyroid at all?
