Pleurisy

I have been taking antibiotics and codeine for a painful flare up on my left side. Hospital said pleurisy inflammation. The last few days some painful itchy spots have appeared on the left shoulder blade area that are raised red and uncomfortable, unsure if medication penicillin /codeine rash or dermatitis type thing . Any ideas please

So sorry to hear you’re not feeling too well but hope you recover soon. Is the rash itchy? Have you had a shingles jab? If it’s still there tomorrow I’d get it checked out just to be safe.

Hi sassy not had a shingles jab but just called 111 and it could be codeine side effects so awaiting a Dr call back .thank you for your reply

Hi BOxermaid - My first thought was penicillin - It's hard to say, you may be better seeing the doctor rather than a phone chat. Could be shingles - I had pain also when I had it.
