Haem appointment disappointing
Went to Haem this week and although the
interferon
has helped me considerably I have been experiencing severe hip and girdle pain, which I told him about.

Obviously not an ideal supplement to HU or
Interferon
and all depends on level of consumption but for example, is HU equivalent to say 1 unit of alcohol per day in terms of potential liver damage. Or more toxic/less toxic? Just wondering if anyone has a ball park idea.

Don't think GP practice is treating my condition properly. What can I do about it?
He also planned to put me on a programme of biological agents (
Interferon
) to try to halt my sight loss so needed Rheum workup before that course cold be taken. Rheumatologist was thorough. He said I had arthritis but not rheumatoid arthritis.

I started Peg Interferon
And no discernible side effects. I gave myself a 90 mcg injection on Friday night before bed. Slept well, woke up fine yesterday. Ate normally, did errands. Slept well Saturday night and seem fine today. The only possible side effect is mouth sores...I have 5 of them this morning. Can they happen this

New oncologist new diagnosis
He wants me to start pegylated
interferon
soon. Believes it can "turn off" the JAK2 switch. Would love to hear your experiences with Pegasys ...

Ocrevus News from ECTRIMS
Personally, I take this news with a grain of salt because it would be more useful to me to see data measuring Ocrevus against a tier 2 or tier 3 DMT not a tier 1
interferon
. I'm still concerned about switching from Tysabri to Ocrevus when this has not been studied at all.

Pegylated Interferon...starting soon
Hi fellow MPN-ers, I’ve just been told that I don’t have ET, but actually have PV. I’m supposed to start Pegasys this week. Can you share your experience with me? Do you get sick? For how long? What helps relieve it? Needless to say, I’m scared. PV has already changed me so much (read: fatigue, falls

PV - Tight Chest
I was previously taking Hydrox and have now been changed over to PEG
Interferon
once a week (135 mg) with 75 mg aspirin. I started injecting PEG
Interferon
about a month ago which seems to be controlling my blood counts. However, I have been feeling a few of the PV symptoms again.

The first 7 months after diagnosis. Feeling better in myself.
I had been seriously worried about the prospect of having to take HU (I have mouth ulcers most of the time already and fair and fragile skin), and was able to have a good discussion with the haematologist about this, and also I was able to ask if alternatives such as peg
interferon
were available.

Frustrations with diagnosis
At the tkme my g.p suggested treatment which was at that time pegylated
interferon
. This process took a year, you had to go dry alcohol wise and inject yourself weekly.

Pregnant with PV, JAK2+, weird family history
The plan is to stick with the aspirin/exercise/monthly phlebotomy until the baby's almost due, then to switch from aspirin to either heparin or
interferon
-alpha for the last week or two before delivery. After delivery, he'll let me stick with something that won't affect the baby via breastmilk.
