Just confused
I have spent 8 months or so trying to figure out what on Earth is going on with my periods. I’ve had three scans and a couple of consultations. Friends of mine tell me they just take two paracetamol and sometimes use a hot water bottle and they’re ok. Where I generally can’t walk, take extremely hot

Interesting info
My husband had a dvt event a few weeks ago and had the usual response of heparin injections for 4 days, and put on apixaban. I commented to him that Apixaban will sort out the clot in his femoral vein .The AC nurse stopped me and said,no, Apixaban does not work on actual clots it prevents further ones

Total knee replacement - 6 weeks on
Hi Today is my 6 week anniversary of having my TKR on my right knee. I'm keen to start driving again and wondered if I need to get the go ahead from the physio first or what is the protocol? My understanding was that if you can do an emergency stop you can drive. I have an automatic car so I'll be

hi last year had so many problems with uti that became resistant to antibiotics. I think finally infection are gone. Also I have extremely large floppy bowel (which doctors keep saying never seen one so bad. Just to give info on what my bowel is like) I use to have diahorrea but then went to constipation

Adenomyosis, should I have hysterectomy?
The short version is that I have adenomyosis. I've always had heavy periods with period pains that make my thighs numb and require prescription painkillers. At the age of 44 I had some symptoms of perimenopause and tried HRT. After two years I came off and that seems to have triggered a strong reaction

Headaches with GCA
Do you get headaches anywhere in your head or just in a certain place? And painkillers don't work.

Rectal fissure - healed!
I'm not sure if this is the correct group to post in as I do not have IBS, however for 10+ years, I had a rectal fissure that just wouldn’t go away. I live in the Caribbean, have a healthy lifestyle and diet. Years ago, when first diagnosed with the fissure, I was prescribed Lidoprocto suppositories

High neutrophil count😱
My wife's last blood test showed her platelets were up at @800 And her neutrophil count at over 70, her Hgb was 116, hematocrit was 0.38 which is high for her, but as it was only three weeks since she had three units of packed red cells and a bag of iron, that was expected. I read in the guardian of

Sacral Insufficiency Fractures
Hi, I've just joined this online community, which feels like a good start! I was diagnosed with sacral insufficiency fractures following a scan in February of this year. My symptoms - excruciating pain and limited mobility - started in September 2022 only 3 months after the finish of my pelvic radiotherapy

I didn’t know if I’d be able to come back…..
Hello It’s been months since I posted to all the lovely supportive people here. I’m very sorry but I couldn’t face it as I had an injury, which a physio said meant that I might not be able to run again. I was devastated. But the amazing news is after nearly 4 months of not running I started very slowly

Back and hips - is this a Flare??
Hi wonderful people, When I first had PMR and at each previous flare, the pain has been across my shoulders and down the backs of my legs. I am currently feeling it badly in my lower back and pelvic girdle and am not sure if it is a flare or summat else. I am somewhat stressed and know that this

Edinburgh Endo Clinic
Hello! Just wondering if anyone has been on a loooong waiting list to be seen by an Endo specialist for the first time since diagnosis? Currently, it's an 80-week waiting time in Edinburgh. I know there is an option to go privately but I am just totally shocked that someone has to suffer from pain etc

Anticoagulant users
G'day, Just after some input from NOAC and Warfarin users. I use Warfarin and have done so for nearly 14 years. No sweat ! Never had bleed problems but have had an assortment of bruising problems in that time usually from DIY mishaps. All sorts of pretty colours of blues, greens, yellows and purples
