Just confused

I have spent 8 months or so trying to figure out what on Earth is going on with my periods. I’ve had three scans and a couple of consultations.

Friends of mine tell me they just take two paracetamol and sometimes use a hot water bottle and they’re ok. Where I generally can’t walk, take extremely hot baths that leave my skin red when I get out of them, take crazy amounts of pain killers and use a hot water bottle with my top or trousers being between my skin and the hot water bottle it’s self.

One doctor who was doing a scan of mine said she couldn’t move my womb and thinks it’s fused to my womb.

The results from that mentioned I had a big cyst and a thin endometrium and would need to go for an MRI.

I went and did all of that. Only to get the results today to find some notes weren’t written down as I mentioned what the other doctor said and the doctor wasn’t sure why there was no blood work. But it’s apparently it’s all fine and I need to go on the coil.

Now I know my body. Something is not fine and I shouldn’t have all the problems I do. Unless this is generally normal for women. I’m also asthmatic and it took me 15 years to get that one under control.

I just don’t know if any one else has had this experience and had to go back and try again. I just feel a bit of a mess. I was told one thing. I just don’t know now.

Has any one else had to go back again to get a diagnosis.

thanks for reading this

Hi,

Unbelievable, most doctors really are useless. It took me countless trips to my GP over the years and ending up in A & E three times before I finally got my endo diagnosis. The only way they can confirm endo is to do a laparoscopy - they need to open you up and have a look. Although that’s not a guarantee either. I had to have two as they completely missed it first time round. My endo was so extensive it presented a smooth surface so it looked normal.

Anyway, my point is that doctors frequently get it wrong and try to fob you off. You know your own body and if you feel something is wrong, keep going. It’s a sad fact that sometimes you need to fight to get the help you need.

Best of luck to you x

Sounds like you need an MRI and lap. Go back it’s not good enough.
