When I first had PMR and at each previous flare, the pain has been across my shoulders and down the backs of my legs. I am currently feeling it badly in my lower back and pelvic girdle and am not sure if it is a flare or summat else.
I am somewhat stressed and know that this can cause a flare. I do also have a flare of diverticulitis at this time and am awaiting a urology referral for kidney stones and having a scan next friday for shadows on my liver. I can only take paracetamol for pain, due to other problems no other pain killers are allowed and these do help but only for a short while.
In addition I am doing a sponsored yoga challenge (started 1st Nov for a month) so 20 mins a day instead of my usual weekly 1.5 hr session, but truly do not think its related as I am very careful and often just doing gentle or relaxing yoga.
My question is, should I try upping my preds for a few days and if so by how much? I am currently 4 weeks in to the DSNS tasper going from 1 to a half.
Many thanks Maggie x

If paracetamol help a little, might be daily yoga, and not giving muscles time to rest - but more likely stress related, and/or you have gone just below the dose you actually need. The difference between 1mg and a half is significant [ more than many realise] and whether you are on a slow taper or not, if you are too low, you are too low.
Try the flare method - and then back to 1mg... and don't try reducing again until you have you other issues sorted.
Thank you for the prompt reply, and supportive advice about other issues. Sadly the diverticulitis is a frequent friend too! But yes, I can get the stones and liver sorted before tapering again for sure! It did not occur to me to be a flare until today, especially as the symptoms are new for me. Its a pain for sure this steroid tapering!! Thank you x
