Just after some input from NOAC and Warfarin users.
I use Warfarin and have done so for nearly 14 years. No sweat ! Never had bleed problems but have had an assortment of bruising problems in that time usually from DIY mishaps. All sorts of pretty colours of blues, greens, yellows and purples !
So, last week I tripped over the cat and after a short flight, smashed my left elbow joint into a wall/door jamb, followed by the most unbelieveable pain. Followed by 4 days of pain killers.
No bruising at all, injury checked by Minor Injuries Unit, X-Rays and Physiotherapy. No bruising observed.
So, my question is .... anyone wanna suggest any reason for no visible bruising. Is it possible that the bone joint took the full smash impact and that the bone itself was bruised. Thus such pain.
Many thanks for any input.
John

Thank you for your good wishes and for your words of wisdom. I seem to remember similar comments to yours from somewhere in the distant past. The 1 to 2 months isn't something that appeals though 😪😪😪😪😪😪🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷.
Its a bit weird that when I touch the 'hurt' area it feels ice cold.
I put a foot up to wash in the slightly lower sink. But I unbalanced in action and flew across the bathroom. Back of head banged the Hardie glaze wall, sunk on my coccyx ouch and right elbow which I was trying to protect it into me disappeared down into my dog's Nutro kidney tall shaped biscuit container. Ouch.
I managed to finally get up via sink.
I was checked by St John. Frozen soy beans sat on for my coccyx.
Within two days the top of my arm all around went BLACK.
I do keep my Vit K low. Maybe you had lots of green vegs the day prior.
The good thing I had manipulated my shoulder/arm and no more pain at night immediately.
I've just had my right shoulder repaired, full thickness tear which needed reconstruction 2 anchors only, others tears trimmed and boney impingment burred off.
Following the advice of two Consultants I was taken off Warfarin and onto Apixoban which is a great improvement. It was always difficult to balance my readings and I was constantly in the Surgery for tests. So perhaps something to consider. Good wishes,
I wonder if you hit the nerve rather than the bone and that's what's causing such pain. Why people call it the funny bone beats me; there's nothing funny about it.
