amlodipine
My mother is 76 and takes insulin. But she is also on so many pills each chasing the side effects of the others. Recently this came to a head as she was prescribed amlodipine which made her legs swell up. She complained, and the kidney doctors told her to come off amlodipine but the GP would not take

Things are definitely improving, read a book by Jason Fung called "The Diabetes Code" and that has helped me lower my
insulin
resistance
thus also helping my vision.

Aspirin, metformin and propranolol
Metformin delays uptake of glucose from the intestinal tract, decreases
insulin
resistance
and inhibits hepatic and renal gluconeogenesis (Glucomet Data Sheet). Propranolol users were significantly less likely to present with a T4 (odds ratio 0.24) or N2/N3/M1 (odds ratio 0.20).

The accidental gamble and win
My new avatar is my great grandson Jaxon. My last post ( 6 months ago) was to state that rheumy considered the PMR activity in my body was relatively inactive but to remain on maintenance dose of 5mg until seen again. Fast forward to to 5th Sept--I had blood tests, doctor's appointment and nurse re-dressing

Here's an interesting question (I think) for the more technical members of this group. the three items listed on the title, have shown some evidence of anticancer activity, if not in real life conditions, at least in vitro experiments. these compounds come from very different sources, yet they do

I have had laser, monthly eye injections and 4 monthly steroid implants. I was sue for another implant last week. I have an excellent consultant and he personally does the implants. Interesting study on gut microbiome and cognitive function
Other findings from the study were that probiotics lowered triglycerides (blood fats), very low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (a marker for inflammation) and two measures of
insulin
resistance
(measuring risk of diabetes).

Food and insulin
My sister who now has diabetes t2 is finding it hard to control her sugars - like myself really. She says many times to me that Atleast you can eat carbs and then take your insulin then your sugars will be down...she doesn't take insulin at the moment. I'm just wondering how can I explain to her that
