I have had laser, monthly eye injections and 4 monthly steroid implants. I was sue for another implant last week. I have an excellent consultant and he personally does the implants. He phoned me last week and asked me to have a three year lasting steroid implant. I am not concerned with the procedure. My concern is that if it is not beneficial to me, will I be able to revert to 4 monthly injections of any other available treatment. I have read that once the implant is in it cannot be removed. Obviously my eye damage is quite severe which is why my consultant t is going up this route. I have been insulin dependant for 35 years and this is the only complication I ha e had so I've been extremely lucky up until now. Is there someone out there who has had the 3 year implant and tell me their benefits or downside to this treatment. I would appreciate your experience. Many thanks
