low blood sugar/adrenal issues and central hypothyroidism
I was diagnosed with PCOS shortly after despite not fitting most of the checklist and was told about
insulin
resistance
. I was also tested for diabetes by my doctor because of my issues but was ok.

Do you ever lie to your doctor(s)?
I know you are supposed to be completely honest with your doctor and all that. But, in all those years I've been on thyroid hormone replacement (20 years), I have found that to be rather problematic. I have never felt optimal on any dose of T4 that kept my TSH in range. Even before knowing as much as

A lot of dietary advice from the NHS is outdated or confusingly represented.
A lot of the foods the NHS diet recommends spike blood sugar and cause
insulin
resistance
.
Insulin

causes immense harm to our bodies, and the number one thing for your health is to become sensitive.

Any Hashimoto members had problems with
Insulin

I may have PCOS
This is just scary for me because PCOS can cause
insulin
resistance
which can also cause type 2 diabetes which runs heavily in my family. So when my doctor drew blood for my thyroid test I also had her run a test of diabetes.

CKD vs Diabetes Eating
Diagnosed with CKD stage 3 GFR 35 about a year ago. Also diabetic type 2 insulin dependent. Having trouble figuring out an eating plan. Nutritionist told me to ignore diabetes diet, nephrologist told me to follow diabetes diet but dont eat bananas, tomatoes and oranges. So confusing. Eating whatever

A tale of four hormones
I am gradually getting my head around how and why LCHF works. It’s not enough for me to be told a diet has worked for loads of people, I need my brain to be involved & understand why I have to give up buckwheat pancakes & rye toast. So. Halle Berry does Keto and looks amazing. Bully for her in my view

Interference From High-Dose Biotin Intake in Immunoassays for Potentially Time-Critical Analytes by Roche
This paper not only identifies and discusses biotin interference in blood test results - but also suggests specific approaches which can overcome the issue. At the time of posting, the full paper is freely accessible, albeit an Early Release version. That means, it might be updated before a final version

Connection between T3 and insulin resistance
Would appreciate others' comments on this: http://www.tiredthyroid.com/insulin-resistance.html The reason I'm asking is because I've been struggling with highish blood sugar and
insulin
levels for years, so basically
insulin
resistance
, and that has not improved on NDT - if anything, got slightly worse

Healthy New Year’s Checklist for People with Kidney Disease
For those of you on Original Medicare, you know that at the beginning of each year you are advised about a Wellness Check that OM will cover. For those of you who have other insurance you may or may not receive something similar. In any case, I thought this checklist would be valuable for all to see
