Holistic approach needed for complex medical issues
Awake after 2 hours sleep has become my regular pattern. I am now so desperate for sleep and am becoming quite scared about my very low mood. I have just read that taking Pramipexole for RLS could be the cause for my insomnia but I feel unable to cope with the symptoms of RLS without this medication

Getting prescription for specific make of Levo
I feel better on a specific make of Levothyroxine but each month is filled with anxiety as to whether I will be able to get it with my nhs prescription... I find myself wondering if folk who need insulin are given different makes with each repeat prescription. I realise needing insulin is something that

Does radiation/brachytherapy prevent my use of insulin pump, which radiation can damage?
Do I need to be concerned with radiation impacts on my insulin pump after prostate-area radiation treatment? I’m diabetic and use a Medtronic 670 hybrid insulin pump with a separate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor/transmitter. To prevent radiation damage to pump and CGM transmitter, I remove

Off insulin
I'm Paul and I've been on healthunclocked since November 2018 just after my partner passed away from terminal cancer. I had decided I needed to do something since I was around 17st and on 45 units of insulin twice a day. I started off by walking to work about 4 miles and eating sensibly. My diabetic

Kraft insulin assay surprise
My peak insulin was 42.6 at 2 hours after a 75 gram glucose swallow. My peak glucose was 184,also at 2 hours post sugar swallow. I don't know how to interpret that. Maybe I can't store insulin..maybe this is typo 1.5 diabetes : called LADA...or maybe my beta cells are just tired. Does anybody ? recognize

Types of PCOS?
As I’ve been looking in to PCOS in general I’ve discovered there are different types, mainly
insulin
resistance
and inflammatory. I have no idea what type I have, I was just told PCOS and given medication. That was it. Can anyone tell me what benefit I would get from finding out what type I have?

How Do I Handle My Severe Stress?
I'm new here. My husband has diabetes and kidney disease with projected dialysis beginning in 2 to 4 years. He's been on a low carb diet, lost a lot of weight, reduced his insulin significantly, when suddenly, almost overnight, his creatinine levels went bad. Now his blood pressure is very high (200

I have diabetes (type 2 insulin based) and rheumatoid arthritis and am on a new medication called roactemra for arthritis. since it has been working properly my numbers have been low, almost normal. problem is I´m still on cortisone too (which put my numbers high) and am afraid when I come off the cortisone

Molecular 'switch' reverses chronic inflammation and aging
An interesting read as inflammation has been linked to Alzeimers, insulin resonance and is a known precursor to plaque formation. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/02/200206144837.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Fhealth_medicine%2Fdiabetes+%28Diabetes

Question : "Do you have you any advice for type 2 diabetics who are thin and underweight? Articles about reversing the problem all relate to people who are overweight. But what about those of us who can’t spare any loss of weight? I am a 74-year-old man, 6ft 2in and weigh just over 12st – and I am on

Plant based diet
I wanted to share this interview. In doing research on MBC, I came to Dr. Andrew Weil. I found below interview on his website. I've just begun eating a plant-based diet and already feeling less fatigue and am anxious to see what wbc count will be when next tested. I've also been having acupuncture
