forteo terrosa pen
there are few if any videos on administrating a dose of forteo. what's the volume of a single dose? are all the doses stored within the pen? it's it similar to insulin injecting?, because Mum will need to be shown m surely the nurses at the GP's will be able to do demonstrate and do the first shot

Some Good News for Those With HF
I hate the term HF as it is not Failure but an Insufficiency and should be called HI! Anyway I was talking to a fairly elderly gentleman a few days ago. He had a major event at the age of 58 which left him with part of the heart muscle dead and a much reduced EF. These days he takes an array of medication

nafld and insulin resistance
I am concerned I have
insulin
resistance
and it will turn to type2 from these liver issues. My recent hba1c test was 32 though.

Pegasys Injection Help
Anyone use insulin needles to inject Pegasys? It appears to be exactly the same other than it says "units" where my prescription calls out "mls". However they both measure out the same. .25ml = 25units Thanks!

Following on from my earlier DVLA post.
Hi all, Yesterday I received the disclosure forms from the DVLA regarding reporting Insulin use etc and excessive tiredness etc. As mentioned in my first post the topic of Cirrhosis came up, I was told that it is a reportable condition, now I may have misunderstood the advisor as to whether it was

Time restricted eating and impact of autophagy on prostate cancer
I have
insulin
resistance
and my physician recommended time restricted eating, 16 to 18 hours of not eating every day to overcome
insulin
resistance
. I read that time restricted eating induces autophagy.

Help with husband who has diabetes but is in denial
my husband has diabetes, untreated, except for the piddly diet changes he’s made that he thinks will reverse the condition. Many years ago his numbers were high, they are higher now, 6.8 with a 148 glucose level, and I managed to get him to follow a strict diet and exercise plan which resulted in a reduction

Hypothetical question- would a GP/endocrinologist have to keep prescribing for you if you refused blood tests
This is a hypothetical question. If you were doing your own private blood tests and happy with the results, but the usual thing of slightly reduced TSH , which you know freaks out the GP (‘your TSH is too low, reduce the dose’) and potentially the endocrinologist (‘we like to aim for normal range’) it

Severe reaction to immunotherapy
Hi My husband has mesothelioma and has been having immunotherapy (Ipilimumab and Nivolumab) every 3 weeks since early January this year. All was going well until last week when he had a severe reaction - diabetic ketoacidosis - and has been in hospital for a week while they try to stabilise his blood

b12 vials multiuse
my doctor prescribed my b12 as multiuse vials and I’m having trouble not bending the needle as I stick it in. I use insulin needles since I injection subcutaneously (it is the most comfortable way of receiving it). I am a little concerned about reusing the same vial multiple times with multiple needles

Update #6 Clear Decks
Hi all 👋 Continuing on from my previous post here - https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/149372691/update-5-back-to-front I am officially bareback… 😬 but don’t worry, it’s not for long. Phase 1 of the plan now begins! It’s taken me about 5/6 weeks, but I have weaned down slowly from 2.5 grains

Reduced prednisone again now at 5 in am, 5 in evening, feeling ok
On 3rd day at 5 and 5, right wrist got sore and swollen. Everything else ok but did feel a little wiped out. Today feeling great, wrist swelling going down. Will stay here at 10mg total for a while before another reduction. Still absolutely zero typical PMR pain. Frankly do not know what to make of
