A few questions for the diabetics here that are on insulin.
I'm a t2 diabetic and have been for over 20 years. Mostly I've kept it under control with A1C around 6, give or take a few. This was with metformin. My CKD has progressed to where I had to stop the metformin. My doctor tried a few other meds but they didn't work. A couple of weeks ago I started

5mg prednisone is working now, body feels like it has adapted to the lower dose
Aches and pains are much subdued. I do think I can keep lowering, but I am a little worried about my hands now. As in maybe the small amount of prednisone is helping down the inflammation there. I have had carpel tunnel symptoms for at least 10 years. Now I know I have some OA in the hands from the xrays

A1C level
I called my doctor's office ahead of my Monday appointment to ask what my A1C was. It went from 7.7 to 7.3. I am disappointed that it wasn't lower with the amount of insulin I take. I know I can be better with my diet and exercise. I have been alot better using my CPAP. Disappointed was hoping for

Some of these are supposed to also be good for things like

Insulin working differently after cabg
Hi I've had a cabg x4. Before surgery my diabetes was stable using both a slow release and a fast acting insulin. Since the operation the insulin is reacting more strongly to the same foods & I can't seem get a balance without dropping - and whichever medics I ask they have no knowledge of this. I

Which test for female hormones?
After testing my blood glucose for a few days (it's ongoing while I experiment) I suspect I've got a level of
insulin
resistance
alongside various other 'perimenopause' symptoms but I'm likely too young for that at almost 37 plus mum was 50+ when she went through menopause...

I would replace "high blood sugar" with
insulin
resistance
. {The triglycerides:HDL-C ratio is a surrogate for
insulin
resistance
.} ADT worsens MetS symptoms. IMO, there is a strong case for Metformin while on ADT. New study from Spain [3].

statins
I’m type 1 diabetic, my whole cholesterol was 4.6 and my bad cholesterol was 3.0 Tried two statins didn’t agree with me, now went to lipid clinic, was put on Rosuvastatin which agrees with me, the only problem is my sugar levels go skyrocketing for a good few hours after i take it. This is concerning

Another question for the diabetics here that are on insulin.
I've just been put on insulin. I take it before each meal and then a long lasting one before bed. My question is, how do you manage when going out to eat? Do you inject at restaurant? Skip a dose or before or after you get home. Not asking for medical opinions just how do you manage this? It would

Insulin Dosages
Hi, I'm Eccleston and have been treated as a T2 for a number of years now. I quickly progressed to the need for insulin and have concerns that the level of insulin being injected may be well above the average. Is there anyone who would be willing to share their experience please? Current insulin treatment

Been doing great lately, reduced again from 10 to 7.5mg prednisone. My crp is under 10 from 103
I had seen the rheumatologist and had dropped from 12.5 to 10, after the visit. Now for last 2 days I am down to 7.5mg prednisone, my own decision, I am certain he wont mind.... It still feels a little ragged in the AM, but I recover well and feel good all the rest of the day after a few hours. Still

Low AMH and Metformin (insulin resistance)
I have had an
insulin
resistance
test recently which showed elevated levels, it has been suggested I take Metformin for it. I have low AMH though and am a little worried about whether Metformin may affect my AMH by reducing it further.

miscarriage advise needed
Hi all! So we used donor sperm and have had two FET’s so far both ended in miscarriage(first at 7th week and second was chemical)! Can this be normal and still carry a baby to term? We are same sex couple so I’ve never tried to conceive before, so no known fertility issues and all tests (bloods,
