Reduced prednisone again now at 5 in am, 5 in evening, feeling ok

On 3rd day at 5 and 5, right wrist got sore and swollen. Everything else ok but did feel a little wiped out. Today feeling great, wrist swelling going down. Will stay here at 10mg total for a while before another reduction. Still absolutely zero typical PMR pain. Frankly do not know what to make of the body reaction here. No more knee pain ever since it went away. 10mg prednisone dose is still a lot in my view of this drug, seeing my body might naturally make cortisol of 5 to 7, so still far away from the goal.

I only stayed a few days at 12.5mg prednisone. My insulin use is coming down, getting more normal. I actually had a low glucose experience few days earlier, which is actually very unpleasant feeling.

Got some Voltaren creme for the wrist and take a few Ibuprofens a day.

sounds like you are doing well... but you shouldn't take ibuprofen with pred...this is from druginteractions.com :

Using prednisone together with ibuprofen may increase the risk of side effects in the gastrointestinal tract such as inflammation, bleeding, ulceration, and rarely, perforation.

Perhaps be in touch with your GP

Your link doesn’t seem to work easily, so have attached a different one - hope you don’t mind…😊

Further to  agingfeminist reply maybe check this site - and agree you shouldn’t take ibuprofen regularly with Pred without doctors agreement and monitoring.

You did but any link must be preceded and followed by a space, you put a colon and that means it isn't a correct link and doesn't show up as one

For me it brought up something completely different….🤔

It did without the colon, true. Which had nothing to do with drugs ...

Always check you have copied the right bit and/or all of the link. It is so easy to miss a bit.

Feeling stiff this am. My plan is to stay at this level for a while. I can manage my insulin needs much better. Right wrist is much better feeling. I suppose with every reduction in prednisone there is some kind of negative body response for a while, usually hitting on me a couple days after reducing and then it gets better, that is my experience.

Yesterday both knees hurt a lot later in the day but the wrist was great. Today the wrist is still great and the knee pain is better, I can actually straighten up and walk. It is not the entire knee, it is only a small area such as the lateral collateral ligament which feels sore, but it effects a lot of knee functionality. It has never been cartilage or any such thing as structural damage. Inner sides of both knees.

Had to go back to more prednisone. My knees hurt too much. Back to 7.5mg AM and 5mg PM. But at least I have been able to reduce from 10 mg AM and 10 mg PM in the last couple weeks. Knees not hurting today. I can walk and get out of chairs. Almost pain free at the moment. When they hurt, It is not just hurting to straighten out the knees, it also hurt to pull them in. They felt super tight.

I put up with knee pains in both knees for several days, but it just seemed to be getting worse.

Still doing good here at 7.5 in AM and 5 in evening. One thing different is I started taking wormwood herb capsules a few days ago, one large capsule per day. Read that it is a natural antibiotic-antiparasitical herb that people have been using for thousands of years. Since no one knows what causes PMR, maybe wormwood will help, maybe PMR is caused by bad gut parasites and their chemical byproducts absorbed into the body, like John Hopkins recently discovered with RA and oral bacterial byproducts. . I have been not feeling any knee pain. Lots of people have parasites and don't know it.

Have felt more energetic in the last few days overall.

Says it may do a lot of things, anti inflammatory, anti parasitical, useful for RA perhaps.

Relieves pain, antioxidant.

Certainly does not make me feel drugged., sick, unwell. I feel great.
