New Diabetic Runner
I have recently started the C25K plan, just finished week 2 and moving on to week 3 tomorrow morning. My main motivations for trying to do the programme are that I am Type 1 Diabetic and struggle at times to control my Blood Glucose properly. Although I never thought I would be able to do the runs properly

Ever wondered why they think you are depressed?
This is a rather interesting article just published by Dr Mercola it explains the relationship between high inflammatory states in the human body and its intimate link with depression. The observations made closely match what I have seen in clinical practice over the last 35 years it also matches and

What Is Resistant Starch and Why Is It Good for You?
Most of the carbs you consume, such as those in grains, pasta and potatoes, are starches. Some types of starch are resistant to digestion, hence the term resistant starch. Resistant starch functions similarly to soluble, fermentable fiber, helping feed the friendly bacteria in your gut and increasing

Imulin 1
I'm due to start on Imulin 1 when I get my prescription today. I've seen the diabetes nurse at my GP surgery and she advises to start on 10ml before bed and to watch my blood sugars for a week and then up it by 2ml each week until I get my blood sugars into single figures. Is this standard practice?

A Short Primer.
This will be a simple, though I hope compelling post, which I hope will clear up some confusion in those concerned with diabetes/weight loss (which are inextricably linked). So, it’s the calories right? Well consider this - 200 calories of bread versus 200 calories of butter. Eat the bread and blood
