low numbers (roactemra)
I have diabetes (type 2 insulin based) and rheumatoid arthritis and am on a new medication called roactemra for arthritis. since it has been working properly my numbers have been low, almost normal. problem is I´m still on cortisone too (which put my numbers high) and am afraid when I come off the cortisone

Molecular 'switch' reverses chronic inflammation and aging
An interesting read as inflammation has been linked to Alzeimers, insulin resonance and is a known precursor to plaque formation. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/02/200206144837.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Fhealth_medicine%2Fdiabetes+%28Diabetes

Pseudomonas advice, please!
Hi everyone Haven't been here for a while but really am quite anxious about being diagnosed with pseudo, on top of my bronchiectasis. I have finished my Cipro and, today, handed in a sputum sample, so will await the outcome. Can anyone answer these questions: *. My sense of taste and smell are both

Question : "Do you have you any advice for type 2 diabetics who are thin and underweight? Articles about reversing the problem all relate to people who are overweight. But what about those of us who can’t spare any loss of weight? I am a 74-year-old man, 6ft 2in and weigh just over 12st – and I am on

Plant based diet
I wanted to share this interview. In doing research on MBC, I came to Dr. Andrew Weil. I found below interview on his website. I've just begun eating a plant-based diet and already feeling less fatigue and am anxious to see what wbc count will be when next tested. I've also been having acupuncture

How do you diagnose Cushing's syndrom and how do you treat it (long post)?
In early December, I had a 24 h saliva test which revealed high cortisol levels throughout the day: 7.30 am 11.12 (ref 2.68-9.30) noon 3.50 (0.75-2.93) 5 pm 4.83 (0.36-1.88) midnight 1.21 (<0.94) I emailed these results to the doctor who has been responsible for my thyroid treatment in the past eight

Here is the second part of Prof. Noake's talk re insulin resistance/Gerald Reaven. I posted the previous talk (and this with others to follow) in the hope of reassuring those still with doubts that a high fat diet can be healthy when everything they've leaned screams the road to follow is paved with

Do you ever lie to your doctor(s)?
I know you are supposed to be completely honest with your doctor and all that. But, in all those years I've been on thyroid hormone replacement (20 years), I have found that to be rather problematic. I have never felt optimal on any dose of T4 that kept my TSH in range. Even before knowing as much as

A tale of four hormones
I am gradually getting my head around how and why LCHF works. It’s not enough for me to be told a diet has worked for loads of people, I need my brain to be involved & understand why I have to give up buckwheat pancakes & rye toast. So. Halle Berry does Keto and looks amazing. Bully for her in my view

Interference From High-Dose Biotin Intake in Immunoassays for Potentially Time-Critical Analytes by Roche
This paper not only identifies and discusses biotin interference in blood test results - but also suggests specific approaches which can overcome the issue. At the time of posting, the full paper is freely accessible, albeit an Early Release version. That means, it might be updated before a final version
