The accidental gamble and win
My new avatar is my great grandson Jaxon. My last post ( 6 months ago) was to state that rheumy considered the PMR activity in my body was relatively inactive but to remain on maintenance dose of 5mg until seen again. Fast forward to to 5th Sept--I had blood tests, doctor's appointment and nurse re-dressing

Here's an interesting question (I think) for the more technical members of this group. the three items listed on the title, have shown some evidence of anticancer activity, if not in real life conditions, at least in vitro experiments. these compounds come from very different sources, yet they do

Food and insulin
My sister who now has diabetes t2 is finding it hard to control her sugars - like myself really. She says many times to me that Atleast you can eat carbs and then take your insulin then your sugars will be down...she doesn't take insulin at the moment. I'm just wondering how can I explain to her that

insulin resistance (home testing) enquiry - quick question
Hi all, I would like to measure my insulin levels to find out whether or not my Hashi's has affected my insulin levels. I did a quick Google search today and found several home testing kits available from high street chemists that test your glucose. Does anyone happen to know if any of these specifically

I've not posted here for some time and I've NOT been diagnosed by my GP with thyroid issues (yet)! However, I've just had my annual blood test in connection with my type 2 diabetes which is diet controlled i.e. no meds or insulin. The surgery phoned me a few days after the blood test asking me to phone

Benefits of Mannitol
Because mannitol is only partially absorbed by the body, it significantly reduces the rise in blood glucose and insulin levels that occur following the ingestion of glucose. Mannitol is a member of the sugar alcohol family and has the following advantages: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/sweeteners/mannitol.html

Low gfr...normal creatinine, protein, and albumin
I've been Dx'd with mixed connective disease. Recently I got labs done and received the results. My gfr was 53 and albumin, protein, and creatinine all normal, in blood and urine. Also I was Dx'd with diabetes 2 but have not had any problems with it, all A1c's have been normal for 6 out of 7 years since

Homecare and help
Well I’m really happy to hear that I’m going to get help here where I live and I won’t have to worry about getting a ride to travel so far to get it. I’m so thankful to the Lord that I’m finally getting proper care in regards to my feet because of the lymphoedema and the proper care that my body needs
